ShawChicago to Stage JEEVES INTERVENES This Fall

ShawChicago continues its 2016/17 season, Dysfunctional Family Fun, with Margaret Raether's adaptation of P.G. Wodehouse's British comedy, Jeeves Intervenes. The production runs November 26 through December 19 at the Ruth Page Center for the Arts, 1016 N. Dearborn Street, Chicago, IL 60610.

Lauren Worsham, Mary Testa and More to Open NYFOS Season with RODGERS, RODGERS & GUETTEL

New York Festival of Song opens its 2016-17 Mainstage season at Merkin Concert Hall with two evenings devoted to the Rodgers family-Richard, Mary, and Adam Guettel (with rare unpublished songs by both Guettel and his mother Mary). Entitled Rodgers, Rodgers & Guettel: A Century of American Musical Theater, the performances take place Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at 8:00 p.m. and Thursday, November 3, 2016 at 8:00 p.m.

Valerie Harper to Join Sally Struthers in NICE WORK IF YOU CAN GET IT at Ogunquit Playhouse

The Ogunquit Playhouse is thrilled to announce that star of stage, screen and television Valerie Harper will join the cast in the role of the wealthy and stylish Millicent Winter in the delightful Nice Work If You Can Get It on stage July 22 to August 15. Also joining the cast is two-time Emmy Award winner Sally Struthers as the Dutchess Estonia, a temperance enforcer who is set against a gang of bootleggers in this madcap musical comedy set during the Roaring Twenties. This brand-new musical written by Tony Award-winner Joe DiPietro is based on material by Guy Bolton and P. G. Wodehouse and was nominated in 2012 for 10 Tony Awards, winning two. Musicals Tonight!'s 18th Season Might Not Be Its Last

One month ago, Musicals Tonight announced its 18th and final season. But renewing subscribers expressed such dismay that Artistic Director Mel Miller has convinced his Board of Directors to reconsider their decision. 

Musicals Tonight Sets Final Season

Musicals Tonight has announced it will close its doors following its 2015-16 season. Its final offerings include Oh, Kay!, which will run October 13-25, 2015, Out of This World from October 27- November 08, 2015, Babes in Arms from March 8-20, 2016, Oh, Boy! from March 22-April 3, 2016, from Wonderful Town April 5 - 17, 2016. A Subscription to all five shows runs at $141.25.

BWW Reviews: Milwaukee Chamber Theatre Celebrates Comedy: Well done, Jeeves!

That debonair, delectable English butler Jeeves returns to Milwaukee Chamber Theatre's (MCT) Cabot Stage for the final installment with Margaret Raether's Jeeves Takes a Bow at Milwaukee's Broadway Theatre Center. On opening night, the cast and crew from the former two productions-Jeeves Intervenes and Jeeves In Bloom-were invited to return for the evening's celebrations. Toast the impeccable talents of actor Matt Daniels, who recreated the role of Jeeves for each MCT production in his elegant, inimitable style.

Based on material previously written by Guy Bolton and P.G. Wodehouse, featuring a catalog of many recognizable songs by George and Ira Gershwin, Nice Work If You Can Get It tells the story of wealthy playboy Jimmy Winter, who meets rough female bootlegger Billie Bendix on the weekend of his wedding. Jimmy, who had been married three times before, is preparing to marry Eileen Evergreen, a self-obsessed modern dancer. Thinking that Jimmy and Eileen wouldl be out of town, Billie and her gang hide cases of alcohol in the basement of Jimmy's Long Island mansion. But when Jimmy, his wife-to-be and her prohibitionist family show up at the mansion for the wedding, Billie and her cohorts pose as servants, causing hijinks galore.
