KING OF CUBA A Play By Cristina García Opens This July

King of Cuba, a new comedy by award-winning writer Cristina Garcia, opens with a press night on Saturday, July 21, and runs through August 19 (previews July 19 & 20) at the historic Berkeley City Club. The summer adventure of the Central Works 2018 season King of Cuba, is developed by Ms. Garcia in the Central Works Writers Workshop featuring the lesbian-gender-bending comedian Marga Gomez, and the Grammy-winning "bongocero" Carlos Caro. All are Cubanx celebrities living in the Bay Area. Directed by Gary Graves, the full cast includes Marco Aponte, Leticia Duarte, Elena Garrity, Marga Gomez*, Ben Ortega and Steve Ortiz.(*SAG)

OPIUM Blasts Off At Cosmopolitan Of Las Vegas 4/8

During last night's galactic premiere of OPIUM, the crew of the Orbital People Mover 4.2 (OPM 4.2) blasted off on their inaugural interplanetary flight from the planet Uranus, successfully landing at the OPIUM Theatre at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, Las Vegas, Earth. On its maiden voyage, the starship's passengers were treated to a stellar performance by an irreverent ensemble crew of fools, many showcasing their peculiar talents - from sword swallowing and singing, to feats of danger, wonder, extreme athleticism, and more. The thrilling, at-capacity premiere flight was met with wild applause and a standing ovation by the ship's passengers upon touchdown.

National Chorale to Present Beethoven's Symphony #9 This Friday, April 13

David Lindsay-Abaire's GOOD PEOPLE Begins 4/20 At Chance Theater

Chance Theater, Anaheim's official resident theater company, is excited to announce the second show in its 20th Season ... Good People. Written by David Lindsay-Abaire, and directed by Jocelyn A. Brown, Good People will preview from April 20 through April 27; regular performances will begin April 28 and continue through May 20 at Chance Theater @ Bette Aitken theater arts Center on the Cripe Stage.

Chester Gregory first made his mark in theatre portraying Jackie Wilson in The Jackie Wilson Story (Black Ensemble Theatre). His performance earned critical acclaim throughout the nation, including the New York Times saying, "Gregory puts on a show of such physical and vocal dexterity that it's almost impossible to imagine that anyone elsecould do it."

Kravis Center To Present THE MOUNTAINTOP

Theatre Works has announced the casting of stage, film and television stars Karen Malina White and Gilbert Glenn Brown for their upcoming tour of the Olivier Award-winning hit play, The Mountaintop.
