DanceWorks Chicago and Lou Conte Dance Studio Partner for DanceChance

Beginning Today, September 30, 2016, DanceWorks Chicago's monthly program DanceChance returns to the Lou Conte Dance Studio in the Hubbard Street Dance Center, located at 1147 West Jackson Boulevard in Chicago's West Loop. Since its inception in March 2008, DanceChance has encouraged dialogues between artists and audiences, across 85 events to date, featuring the work of more than 200 Chicago-based choreographers.

Pacific Northwest Ballet Principal Dancer Announces Retirement

SEATTLE, WA, November 17, 2015 — Pacific Northwest Ballet Artistic Director Peter Boal and principal dancer Maria Chapman have announced that Ms. Chapman has decided to retire. Ms. Chapman joined PNB as an apprentice in 1995 and was promoted to corps de ballet in 1996, soloist in 2005, and principal in 2009.

Painting with a Twist Launches Franchises in Seven New States

Painting with a Twist, the original and largest paint-and-sip franchise, has opened more than one new studio each week this year, and is on track to reach their goal of 100 new studios in 2015. Additionally, the company has signed recent franchise agreements propelling the brand into seven new states, including Alabama, Hawaii, Illinois, Maine, Minnesota, Montana and Washington.

Atlanta Ballet Artistic Director to Depart

Atlanta Ballet Board of Trustees chair Allen W. Nelson announced today that artistic director John McFall will end his tenure with the organization after what will be 21 years at its helm. His last day as artistic director will be June 1, 2016.

Choreographer William Forsythe Holds Lecture with Pacific Northwest Ballet Tonight

SEATTLE, WA - Legendary choreographer William Forsythe will join Pacific Northwest Ballet on stage for a special lecture-demonstration on the eve of the first American program devoted entirely to his work. The evening will feature a candid interview of Mr. Forsythe by PNB artistic director Peter Boal, a peek behind the curtain to watch Mr. Forsythe working with PNB dancers, and an opportunity for audience members to ask questions. This is Mr. Forsythe's first visit to PNB to work directly with PNB dancers, and we couldn't be more excited to welcome this groundbreaking artist to our studios.

Programs at BAC throughout 2015 will exemplify the kind of creative engagement for which BAC has earned recognition during the last decade: presenting and nurturing artists from around the world, at varying stages in their careers, and who are working innovatively across disciplines.

Tickets Now On Sale for WAM's IN DARFUR

WAM (Women's Action Movement) Theatre is gearing up for its most ambitious and daring fall production: the New England premiere of Winter Miller's timely drama, In Darfur. Preparations come on the heels of WAM Theatre's enlightening fifth-season celebration, Change Makers, during which Artistic Director Kristen van Ginhoven announced that Mother of Peace Ilovo, an orphanage in South Africa, will be the beneficiary of WAM's 2014 philanthropic donation. In Darfur will run from October 30 - November 16 at the Berry Family Studio at Shakespeare & Company, where tickets are now available for purchase. Opening night is Saturday, November 1.

Florida Studio Theatre Announces 2014-15 Youth and Adult Education Classes

September is almost here! That means Florida Studio Theatre is gearing up for all new sessions of Youth, Teen, and Adult performing arts workshops, created exclusively to nurture the individual creativity of the artist. FST School offers 33 sessions and workshops, varying in length and discipline, for creative development, advanced education and performing opportunities.

CHICAGO – Hubbard Street Dance Chicago and Artistic Director Glenn Edgerton are excited to release single tickets to the renowned contemporary company's 2014–15 season performances in Chicago, on August 25, 2014 at 10am.
