The Jewish Theatre Workshop Presents 'The Importance of Being Earnest' by Oscar Wilde Those auditioning should prepare a short humorous speech. The director will also have sides from the script in addition to the memorized speech.

On October 12, 2009, La Jolla Playhouse will join with theatres across the country in presenting a reading of the Tectonic Theater Project's new work: The Laramie Project: 10 Years Later, by The Laramie Project creators Moisés Kaufman, Leigh Fondakowski, Greg Pierotti, Andy Paris and Stephen Belber. This compelling and groundbreaking epilogue to the original piece will premiere on October 12, 2009 at Lincoln Center's Alice Tully Hall and at more than 100 other theaters in all 50 states, Canada, Great Britain, Spain, Hong Kong and Australia.

Earnest has five male characters: two in their 20s, and three in their 50s-60s. There are four female roles: two ages 18-25 and two in their 50s-60s. The auditions are cold readings from the script; a British accent is preferred. No parts are pre-cast. This production will be directed by Carol Strachan and produced by Terry Yates.

Hutchins Foster (Naked Will at Celebration Theatre) joins the cast of MOM'S THE WORD presented by A Schenk You Very Much Productions. The West Coast premiere of the award-winning play by Linda A. Carson, Jill Daum, Alison Kelly, Robin Nichol, Barbara Pollard and Deborah Williams marks the first time a male actor will portray a ‘mom.' Jerry London (Emmy Award-winning mini-series Shogun) directs this production written by moms about motherhood, pregnancy and childbirth from the good, the bad and the yucky.
