The Shakespeare Theatre Company announces its 2014-2015 ReDiscovery Series with a selection of five plays by significant women playwrights of the early 20th Century, directed by local D.C. directors. The first reading to kick off the series will be Chains of Dew by Susan Glaspell, directed by Holly Twyford, on Monday, September 15.

The Meeting* hosted by Justin Sayre, the acclaimed comedy/variety show, will return to Joe's Pub at The Public Theater on Sunday, September 14 at 9:30 PM for the launch of its landmark 6th season. The September show will include a tribute to the beloved soul diva Amy Winehouse, featuring special guests Kenny Mellman, Jessica Vosk, Xavier Rice and Mark Aaron James. Tracy Stark serves as the show's Music Director.

A Noise Within (ANW), the acclaimed classical repertory theatre company, continues its 2014-2015 REVOLUTIONary season with The Importance of Being Earnest by Oscar Wilde, which opens on Saturday, September 27 and runs through Saturday, November 22, 2014. Directed by five-time L.A. Drama Critics Circle Award-winner Michael Michetti, this is the second production of The Importance of Being Earnest for A Noise Within, which mounted the play originally in their 1993-94 and 1994-95 seasons.

The Sonoma State University Department of Theatre Arts & Dance has announced its 2014-2015 performance season showcasing the emerging talents of SSU students studying theater arts, dance and music. SSU's Department of Theatre Arts & Dance has planned a wild, rebel-filled and wickedly funny season that begins in the Deep South and travels to India, Russia and around the globe through drama, comedy, opera and dance. For its annual performance season, the Department of Theatre Arts & Dance offers special events, several free K-12 Student Matinees, SSU "Faculty & Staff Night" and alumni performances. Rover Dramawerks will conclude their 14th Season with the regional premiere of the mystery/comedy Sherlock Holmes and the Case of the Jersey Lily by Katie Forgette at their new theatre venue in Plano, located in Ruisseau Village at 221 W. Parker Rd, Suite 580, at the northwest corner of Parker and 75. Performances are September 11 - October 4, with shows on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays at 8:00 p.m., plus an additional matinee performance on Saturday, September 20 at 2:00 p.m.

Sierra Rep's ALL MY SONS Runs Now thru Sept 21

Running today, August 29 through September 21 at Sierra Repertory Theatre's East Sonora stage, the drama's themes - corruption, materialism, getting ahead at the expense of others - are still relevant, said Scott Viets, artistic director at Sierra Repertory Theatre.

European Arts Company's THE TRIALS OF OSCAR WILDE Sets Trafalgar Studios Transfer

Following a 43 date UK Tour and sell out run at St James Theatre, European Arts Company have announced that The Trials of Oscar Wilde is transferring to Trafalgar Studios for a strictly limited four week run. The production will open on Monday 13th October, in celebration of Oscar Wilde's 160th birthday that same week, and will run until Saturday 8th November. Press Night is scheduled for Tuesday 14th October at 7.00pm. A special Birthday Gala performance will take place on Thursday 16th October at 7.45pm (Oscar's Birthday) with further details to be announced soon.

ACT - A Contemporary Theatre under the Artistic Direction of Kurt Beattie is proud to announce the Mainstage productions taking place in the 50th Anniversary Season in 2015. The mid-century mark will reflect ACT's contribution to the field throughout history and looking to the future with the theme, What Was, What is, and What Will Be. 2015 brings cause to celebrate two other milestone anniversaries: ACT will celebrate the 40th year of producing founder Gregory A. Falls' adaptation of A Christmas Carol, as well as the 90th anniversary of the 1925 Fraternal Order of Eagles building, ACT's historic landmark home since 1996. Commemorative celebrations and engagement opportunities will occur throughout the year. A brief history of ACT's founding is included following the season titles.
