Salome, that dancing seductress who demanded the head of John the Baptist, has been reclaimed by Yael Farber in this new feminist interpretation (the RSC stages Oscar Wilde's more familiar take next month). Or at least that's the intention, but Farber's production sacrifices the personal for the mythic - ironically once again losing the girl history erased in a storm of overblown symbolism.

Jones book series is celebrating its 25th anniversary, and the world's funniest first-grader is front and center at Walnut Street Theatre. Due to popular demand, the Walnut has just announced the production has been extended! Junie B. Jones will now run June 2nd through June 18th.

The Lamentable Tale of a Dog; as told by Beppo, formerly of the Castaglioni company of Padua - the new and timely solo work by outrageous writer/performer Justin Sayre - will debut on Thursday, May 18 at 9:00 PM as part of the High Line "Out of Line" event series.

Tony Award-nominated singer & actress Melissa Errico will return to Feinstein's/54 Below on Saturday, June 3 at 7pm for the NYC debut of her acclaimed concert 'Melissa Errico Sings Sondheim,' where she will lend her gorgeous voice to the music and lyrics of Stephen Sondheim, including songs from shows of his that she has starred in.

Irish Repertory Theatre has announced its Summer 2017 Season. On the Francis J. Greenburger Mainstage will be WOODY SEZ: THE LIFE & MUSIC OF WOODY GUTHRIE, directed by Nick Corley (Kissing Jessica Stein).
