Contemporary Realist Painter, Evgenia Espinoza, Showcases a Series of Portraits Titled Femininity in Her Debut Solo Show in Dublin
by Robert Diamond
- Feb 2, 2014
Contemporary realist painter, Evgenia Espinoza, showcases a series of oil portraits titled Femininity in her debut solo show at Gallery 27 located at 27 South Frederick Street, Dublin 2. The show will be opened on February the 6th by the director of Open Window Gallery, Dierdre Irvine, at 6pm and will be on display until February the 11th. The show is a tribute to femininity and feminine energy- energy of love and creation- and can be previewed on the artist's website- www.evgeniaespinoza.com.
'Each and every piece of this collection is a self-portrait in a way because it portrays a certain aspect of me and womanhood as a whole. It is not about the physical appearance but about the inner life of a woman shining through. Sometimes you can see it in the eyes, sometimes in a smile, sometimes it is almost unnoticeable, but so very present it haunts you,' says the artist, 'It is not a cry to be noticed or understood, but rather a whisper saying 'I am a wind in your hair and a hand on your shoulder.' It is subtle and elusive and free to interpretation.'
The show will be curated by Tony Strickland, an independent visual art curator who has just completed his 21st exhibition at various venues in Dublin, which include the Crow Gallery, The Mad Art Gallery, Ranelagh Arts Centre, Conradh na Gaeilge and the Blackrock Market Cafe.

Mike Majerus Argues Lee Harvey Oswald Fired Two Shots in New Book PHANTOM SHOT
by Christina Mancuso
- Oct 22, 2013
BILLINGS, Mont., Oct. 22, 2013 /PRNewswire/ Lee Harvey Oswald only fired two shots at President Kennedy on November 22, 1963, according to a new book, PHANTOM SHOT. This is different than the conclusion reached by the Warren Commission, which determined that he fired three shots. Most assassination researchers have argued that Oswald could not have fired three shots in less than six seconds and hit his target twice. Because he could not have fired all three shots, the reasoning goes, there had to be a second gunman, and thus a conspiracy.

by BWW
News Desk
- Apr 25, 2013
When Artistic Director Jeremy Stanbary planned the second season for Open Window Theatre, no one knew that the world would be welcoming a new pope in 2013. When one witnesses the world premiere production of Mercy Unrelenting, however, it would seem that Stanbary's decision was timely, if not prophetic. Mercy Unrelenting by Jeremy Stanbary tells the true story of a family overcome by tragedy and ultimately forgiveness. The message is akin to that of the newly elected Pope Francis whose papal motto is one of divine mercy.
