Open Window Theatre Presents Buzz McLaughlin's SISTER CALLING MY NAME, Beginning Tonight

Artistic Director Jeremy Stanbary chose to open the theatre's fifth season with a serious drama that he says 'advocates for the worth and dignity of the mentally disabled.' SISTER CALLING MY NAME, which celebrates its Minnesota premiere, is the winner of the 1996 National Play Award. The production will run tonight, October 16, through November 1, 2015.

CITIZEN: AN AMERICAN LYRIC Plays Fountain Theatre, Now thru 9/14

A meditation on race fusing poetry, prose, movement, music and the video image, Citizen: An American Lyric is a provocative new stage adaptation of Claudia Rankine's internationally acclaimed book of poetry about everyday acts of racism in America. Adapted by multiple award-winning playwright Stephen Sachs, helmed by multi award winning director Shirley Jo Finney, and featuring a talented six-member ensemble including Bernard K. Addison, Leith Burke, Tina Lifford, Tony Maggio, Simone Missick and Lisa Pescia, the world premiere of Citizen opens at the Fountain Theatre tonight, August 1.

Minneapolis Musical Theatre (MMT) concludes its 2014-2015 season with Happy Days-A New Musical making its area premiere tonight, April 24-May 17, 2015 at Hennepin Theatre Trust's New Century Theatre. Based on the hit ABC television show 'Happy Days,' the musical features a book by the series' original creator Garry Marshall, with music and lyrics by Oscar, Grammy and Golden Globe winner Paul Williams. Happy Days is directed by longtime Twin Cities' director and actor Joe Hendren working with MMT's artistic director, Christian Unser.

Théâtre Raymond Kabbaz (TRK) is proud to present Ana Moura - In Concert on Friday, November 14, 2014. Ana Moura, an award-winning internationally recognized Fado vocalist will perform two shows in one evening, at 6:00pm and 9:00pm, featuring songs from her latest album, Desfado. The soulful Portuguese singer has become a leading exponent of Fado, which personifies the Portuguese psyche with its deeply expressive explorations of universal themes such as lost love, separation, and longing. At TRK, she will perform onstage with Angelo Freire, Pedro Soares, Andre Moreira, Joao Gomes, and Mario Costa. The event is part of Moura's 2014 U.S. Tour, which also features stops in Boston, MA; Storrs, CT; South Orange, NJ; New York, NY; Scottsdale, AZ; Sacramento, CA; and San Francisco, CA.

The play will be presented in French with projected English subtitles.
