To celebrate the 150th anniversary of Lewis Carroll's classic novel, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, critically-acclaimed theatre company Les Enfants Terribles (The Vaudevillains; The Trench) will bring Wonderland to the capital with Alice's Adventures Underground, in an adaptation by Oliver Lansley and Anthony Spargo. Producer Emma Brunjes (Meow Meow: Wonderground; Secret Cinema: Miller's Crossing) joins the team to bring this ambitious theatrical experience to life on a grand scale. Leading agency Creature of London are also on board as creative collaborators.
From the award-winning team behind 'The Terrible Infants', 'Ernest & the Pale Moon' and 'The Vaudevillains', comes a new play inspired by the true story of a miner who became entombed in a tunnel during World War One. As the horror threatens to engulf him, he discovers another world beneath the mud and death. Setting off on an epic journey of salvation, the boundaries between reality and fantasy blur as he questions what's real, what's not and whether it even matters? The Trench blends physical storytelling, verse, puppetry and live music from Alexander Wolfe.
In their 13 year history Les Enfants Terribles have gone from performing in 50 seat venues on a shoe-string budget to working consistently in large scale venues - building a considerable critical and commercial following - and touring the globe with their fresh and innovative products. As such, Les Enfant Terribles have now built a reputation for being one of the most visually exciting British theatre companies working today.
Following their acclaimed tour of The Trench, which played at TOM May 2013, award-winning Theatre Company, Les Enfants Terribles tour with their new show, Ernest and The Pale Moon, adapted for the stage with Pins and Needles Productions.
