HONEYMOON IN VEGAS, the eagerly awaited new Broadway musical, will play Broadway's Brooks Atkinson Theatre (256 West 47th Street) with previews beginning Tuesday, November 18, 2014 for a Thursday, January 15, 2015 opening night. An exclusive ticket pre-sale through Audience Rewards will begin Monday, June 30 at 10 AM. Single tickets for the production will go on sale on Monday, July 7 via Ticketmaster.com.

Cape Town City Ballet, currently in rehearsal for their July season at Artscape Theatre, recently announced the names of dancers promoted in the company. This exciting news was made known to the company after they returned from their autumn holidays. It's been announced, predicted and rumored and now it appears to be near official that Jason Robert Brown's Honeymoon in Vegas will be coming to Broadway this Fall. In a New York Times report on the closing of AFTER MIDNIGHT at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre, they note that next up is said to be Honeymoon in Vegas, though dates are not yet confirmed.

Musician/composer/lyricist Michael Patrick Walker is world premiering a new musical Dog and Pony at the Old Globe in San Diego. Walker is best known as one of the composers of the hit musical Altar Boyz. He was nominated for a 2005 Lucille Lortel Award for Best Off-Broadway Musical and for two 2005 Drama Desk Awards for Best Music and for Best Lyrics for Altar Boyz. The show also won the 2005 Outer Critics Circle Award for Best Off-Broadway Musical. The 46th Kritzerland show on Sunday, June 1 featured one of the most influential female lyricists of all time, the great Dorothy Fields. In a time when Tin Pan Alley was almost exclusively a male-dominated club, Dorothy Fields rose to the top, first writing hit after hit with Jimmy McHugh, and later becoming one of the first female lyricists on Broadway and in film. Fields created some of the cleverest and most beautiful lyrics ever written, and was a master of the craft who forged the way for so many other talented female lyricists. There was no one like Dorothy Fields.
