Actors' Equity Association (AEA or Equity), the labor union representing more than 49,000 professional stage actors and stage managers in the US, today received an historic national charter in its centennial year from the AFL-CIO. On Sunday, October 21, the Actors Unite to End Alzheimer's NYC 2012 team walked in Riverside Park in the National Walk to End Alzheimer's for the Alzheimer's Association. Actors Unite was founded by Nancy Daly, former member of the Actors' Equity National Council, in 2011 in honor of her own mom who died of Alzheimer's on May 8, 2012. Nancy wanted to build a community of support and compassion for her fellow actors and anyone who has a loved one with Alzheimer's.
