Lesser America to Premiere HALF MOON BAY at Cherry Lane Theater

Lesser America (The Bachelors, Carnival Kids, Trevor) will present HALF MOON BAY by Dan Moyer. It is directed by Jess Chayes (AD of Peter and The Starcatcher) starring Keilly McQuail (You Got Older, Her Requiem) and Gabriel King (These Seven Sicknesses). Previews begin May 12 at Cherry Lane Theatre, where Lesser America is the inaugural Company in Residence. Opening set for Thursday, May 19.

Samuel D. Hunter's New Drama THE HEALING Heads Off-Broadway This June

Theater Breaking Through Barriers will present the World Premiere of THE HEALING by Drama Desk and Obie Award-winning playwright Samuel D. Hunter (The Whale, A Bright New Boise). It will be directed by Stella Powell-Jones. Previews begin June 11 at Theatre Row's Clurman Theatre with opening night slated for June 22.

Ars Nova, New York's incubator for boundary-pushing theater, expands its monthly variety Showgasm. series with first-ever Showgasm XXL on April 21 at Marquee NY. Hosted by John Early, "one of the Ten Best Comedians of 2015" (Time Out New York), with DJ Hamm Samwich, this raucous variety-show-meets-party will supersize its showcase of fresh comedy, music, burlesque, vaudeville and everything-in-between for a one-night only blow-out event.

Dael Orlandersmith's SOME OF THE THINGS INSIDE Will Premiere at Joe's Pub Next Week

Waterwell today announced a special command performance at Joe's Pub of its 2016 New Works Lab commission Some of the Things Inside, a bracingly honest play by one of the most singular and significant voices in the American theater: Pulitzer Prize finalist and OBIE Award winner Dael Orlandersmith (Forever, Yellowman, Beauty's Daughter). This year's installment of the annual developmental workshop series for the senior Drama class at the Professional Performing Arts School (PPAS), Some of the Things Inside is directed by Allison Talis and will play Joe's Pub Monday, April 18th at 7:00pm.

F*It Club to Continue Series of Short World Premiere Plays at IRT Theatre

F*It Club, the New York Innovative Award-winning film and theatre company, continues its annual series of short, commissioned world-premiere plays at the IRT Theater as part of their 3B Development Series in Manhattan's West Village with The Spring Fling: Crush, six new short plays by  Kevin Artigue (The Forcings), Stephanie Del Rosso (Flee), Catya McMullen (Everything is Probably Going to be Okay), Seth Moore (Seawife), Gregory S. Moss (Billy Witch), and Ariel Stess (Heartbreak).

New Ohio Theatre presents the world premiere of Glass Bandits Theater Company's AN INTIMATE EVENING WITH TYPHOID MARY, written by Carl Holder and directed by Knud Adams, which begins performances tonight, March 18, and continues through Saturday, March 26 at the New Ohio Theatre (154 Christopher Street between Greenwich and Washington Streets).

Pulitzer Prize Winner David Lindsay-Abaire to Join Juilliard as Co-Director of Lila Acheson Wallace American Playwrights Program

James Houghton, Richard Rodgers Director ofJuilliard's Drama Division, announced today that Pulitzer Prize winner David Lindsay-Abaire will join Marsha Normanas new co-director of Juilliard's Lila Acheson Wallace American Playwrights Program, beginning in the fall 2016 semester. Mr. Lindsay-Abaire, an alumnus of the program, will succeed Christopher Durang, who has served as co-director of the program with Ms. Norman since 1994.

The Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle named the multi-nominated Hit the Wall and Mojada: A Medea in Los Angeles as 2015's Outstanding Productions at the organization's 47th annual awards event, held on Monday evening, March 14 at the Moss Theatre of New Roads School in Santa Monica.

'TYPHOID MARY' Begins in March at New Ohio Theater

Clubbed Thumb Announces SUMMERWORKS Festival Lineup

?Five-time Obie Award-winning theater company Clubbed Thumb has announced the line-up for SUMMERWORKS, its annual series of new plays. Now in its 21st season, SUMMERWORKS will run May 27 through July 9 at The Wild Project (195 E 3rd Street) in Manhattan, and will feature productions of three new plays: EVERY ANGEL IS BRUTAL by Julia Jarcho and directed by Knud Adams; THE TOMB OF KING TOT by Eric Dufault and directed by Portia Krieger; and TUMACHO by Ethan Lipton and directed by Leigh Silverman. The world premiere of THE WILDNESS: SKY-PONY'S ROCK FAIRY TALE, with text by Obie Award winner Kyle Jarrow and Lauren Worsham and songs by Kyle Jarrow, opens tonight, February 29, 2016. Presented by Ars Nova in collaboration with The Play Company, a limited Off-Broadway engagement is slated through March 19.

PRETTY HUNGER and TEENAGE DICK Set for Public Studio This Spring

In this third year, PUBLIC STUDIO will present PRETTY HUNGER by Public Theater Emerging Writers Group alumna Patricia Ione Lloyd, directed by Martha Banta, running March 10 through March 19. The second show, TEENAGE DICK by Mike Lew, will be directed by Moritz von Stuelpnagel and run March 24 through April 2.

The world premiere of THE WILDNESS: SKY-PONY'S ROCK FAIRY TALE, with text by Obie Award winner Kyle Jarrow and Lauren Worsham and songs by Kyle Jarrow, presented by Ars Nova in collaboration with The Play Company, plays a limited Off-Broadway engagement, tonight, February 16, through March 19, with an official opening night on Monday, February 29, 2016.

A Red Orchid Sets SENDER World Premiere Cast

?A Red Orchid Theatre concludes its 2015-2016 season with the world premiere of Sender by Ike Holter, directed by Ensemble Member Shade Murray. Featuring Ensemble Member Steve Haggard, the cast of Sender also includes McKenzie Chinn, Mary Williamson and Steven Wilson. Sender will run April 14 - May 29, 2016. The press opening for Sender is April 18, 2016 at 7 p.m. A Red Orchid Theatre is located at 1531 N Wells.
