Polly Findlay directs Christopher Eccleston in his RSC debut in the title role of Macbeth, with Niamh Cusack returning to the company to play Lady Macbeth and Edward Bennett as Macduff, in a contemporary production of Shakespeare's darkest psychological thriller. Returning home from battle, the victorious Macbeth meets three witches on the heath. Driven by their disturbing prophecies, he sets out on the path to murder.
The Barbican Announces Theatre and Dance Programme From September to December 2018

The Barbican today announces its September to December 2018 Theatre and Dance season. Tickets go on sale to Barbican Members plus on Thursday 15 March, to Barbican Members on Friday 16 March and to the general public on Monday 19 March 2018. Young Barbican tickets for 14-25 year-olds are available for all productions from September to December 2018 (excluding Imagined Touch). There are 50,000 Young Barbican tickets for art, film, music, theatre and dance ranging from £5, £10 or £15.

Theatre Royal Bath presents Christmas Eve, featuring Niamh Cusack as professor Judith and Patrick Baladi as police officer Thomas. The new thriller is the latest play from multi-award-winning writer Daniel Kehlmann and will be directed by Laurence Boswell, in a translation by Christopher Hampton. The production runs at the Ustinov Studio now through Saturday 18 November, with opening night set for tonight 25 October.

Theatre Royal Bath announces full casting for Christmas Eve, which today begins rehearsals. Niamh Cusack will play philosophy professor Judith and Patrick Baladi will play police officer Thomas. The new thriller is the latest play from multi-award winning writer Daniel Kehlmann and will be directed by Laurence Boswell, in a translation by Christopher Hampton. The production will run at the Ustinov Studio from Thursday 19 October to Saturday 18 November, with opening night for press on Wednesday 25 October.

First premiering at the Edinburgh Traverse two years ago, Owen McCafferty's play Unfaithful has a new cast and a new home at the Found111 on Charing Cross Road. Tom (Sean Campion), a plumber, and Joan (Niamh Cusack), a supervisory dinner lady, are a fifty-something married couple who have been together for 30 years. One night Tom returns home, telling Joan he's slept with someone else – a young woman he met at the pub. Seeking revenge, Joan hires a male escort and meets him at the same hotel where her husband frequently drinks.
