Brierpatch Productions Presents FROG KISS 9/30 As Part Of NYMF

Brierpatch Productions' new musical production FROG KISS is an official selection of the New York Musical Theatre Festival's 2010 Next Link Project. This new saucy n' swingin' musical tale of transformation features book and lyrics by Charles Leipart with music composed by Eric Schorr. Frog Kiss will premiere on Thursday, September 30, 2010 at the Theater at St. Clements.

NYMF Presents WATER AND POWER, 10/1-2

Cited by the Los Angeles Times as 'better than any textbook,' Water and Power is an industrial strength musical about the 1830s labor movement performed by thirty students from the LA-based Marquez Charter Elementary School. These 4th-6th graders will perform the 90-minute work as both their New York debut and their homework assignment.

THERAPY ROCKS Plays NYMF, Opens 9/27

NEW YORK MUSICAL THEATRE FESTIVAL and KIM VASQUEZ/GRAY LADY ENTERTAINMENT are pleased to announce THERAPY ROCKS, a new modern musical with book by KAREN BISHKO, KAETHE FINE and NAT BENNETT, music and lyrics by KAREN BISHKO and directed by Thomas Caruso, as part of their 2010 showcase. Performances will run September 27th at 8 pm, September 29th at 1 pm, October 1st at 8 pm, October 2nd and 3rd at 4:30 pm, October 5th at 8 pm and October 6th at 1 pm at Urban Stages.

NIGHTTIME TRAFFIC Plays NYMF 9.28

Bistro Award winner Liz McCartney, recently seen in the Tony® Award winning musical South Pacific, joins the cast of Nighttime Traffic, a part of this season's New York Musical Theatre Festival.

INCREDIBLY DEAF MUSICAL Set For NYMF 9/30-10/10

An inspiring new autobiographical musical about a composer determined to keep making music even as he is going deaf, will debut this fall when JAY ALAN ZIMMERMAN'S INCREDIBLY DEAF MUSICAL is presented by The New York Musical Theatre Festival and Geoffrey Cohen, with performances set for September 30 through October 10 at The Duke on 42nd (229 W. 42 St.) in Manhattan.

Drake Directs THINGS AS THEY ARE At NYMF 9/27

Belcon, Blake & More Set For CATCO 's THE LAST SMOKER IN AMERICA

CATCO (Columbus, OH), in association with Andy Sandberg (Hair), has announced full casting for the world premiere of the musical, The Last Smoker in America, with book and lyrics by Tony Nominee Bill Russell (Side Show) and music by Drama Desk Nominee Peter Melnick (Adrift in Macao) under the direction of Andy Sandberg, with choreography by Tony Award nominee AC Ciulla (Footloose), music supervision by Fred Lassen and music direction by Andrew Resnick.

VERITAS Wins Overall Excellence Award for Best Ensemble

WINNER of OVERALL EXCELENCE AWARD FOR ENSEMBLE 'VERITAS' Harvard's 'Secret Court': a gay witch-hunt. Directed by Ryan J Davis, the critically acclaimed Perkins 28 Productions presentation of 'Veritas' by Stan Richardson won the Overall Excellence Award for Best Ensemble for the 14th New York International Fringe Festival-FringeNYC.

Paice, Morton, Kushnier Lead Cast Of CHESS At Signature Theatre Thru 9/26

CHESS opened at the Signature Theatre on August 10 and will run through September 26. The cast is lead by Jill Paice (Curtains, The 39 Steps) as Florence Vassy, Euan Morton (Boy George in Taboo, Sondheim on Sondheim) as Anatoly Sergievsky and Jeremy Kushnier (Footloose, Rent) as Freddie Trumper. The rock musical is directed by Signature's Artistic Director Eric Schaeffer. Written by Mamma Mia! composers Björn Ulvaeus and Benny Andersson with Evita and Lion King lyricist Tim Rice, the 1984 cult musical of Cold War competition in love and chess is being given its first major Washington area production. Chess is being performed in the fabulous intimacy of the 276-seat MAX Theatre.

Prospect Theater Company's WITH GLEE Closes 8/29

Prospect Theater Company (Cara Reichel, Producing Artistic Director / Melissa Huber, Managing Director) extended performances of its highly acclaimed new musical With Glee for one additional final week. The show will close on August 29 at The Kirk Theatre at Theatre Row (410 West 42nd Street) following a sold-out original run and two extensions.

Northlight Theatre Presents DADDY LONG LEGS 9/16-10/24
