MATA HARI IN 8 BULLETS is an official selection of the New York Musical Theatre Festival. Conceived and composed by David Rhymer, lyrics Blake Brooker and David Rhymer, choreographed by Odette Heyn directed by Peter Schneider and starring Onalea Gilbertson as Mata Hari. Tonight, July 12, TheatreWorks New Milford will host the world premiere of the musical comedy EARNEST OR WHAT'S IN A NAME?, an original adaptation of Oscar Wilde's 'The Importance of Being Earnest' in the style of Gilbert and Sullivan. The New York Musical Theatre Festival & Tritone Productions will present a reading of Nightmare Alley, a new musical with book, music & lyrics by Jonathan Brielle and directed by Michael Bush. This is the second NYMF collaboration for Brielle and Bush. Last summer, NYMF presented Brielle's Himself and Nora directed by Bush which has since gone on to a critically acclaimed production at the American Theater Group's Hamilton Stage. The reading of Nightmare Alley will take place Tuesday, July 23 at 5pm & Wednesday, July 24 @at5pm & 9pm at the Signature Theater.

The New York Musical Theatre Festival welcomes back Anthony Rapp to the festival as he stars in the staged reading of Shawn Cody's epic fantasy THE WATER DREAM directed by Jim True-Frost. The event will take place tonight, July 10 and the 11th at The Pershing Square Signature Center, The Alice Griffin Jewel Box Theatre (480 West 42nd St.).
