Promise Productions to Present TO JANE WITH LOVE at Toronto Fringe

Promise Productions is excited to present To Jane with Love as part of the 27th annual Toronto Fringe Festival, June 29th - July 10th, 2016.  The Fringe Festival is Toronto's largest theatre and performance festival- with more than 155 productions featured at over 30 venues across the west end of Toronto, drawing more than 90,000 people over 12 days each year. There is something for everyone, with musicals, comedies, family programming, drama, dance, improv and anything else you can imagine on offer. "Having my play as part of The Fringe Festival is both honouring and fulfilling. I just want the message delivered far and wide," says Deon Denton, writer and director of To Jane with Love. 

The Breadbox Theatre to Stage World Premiere of THE AWAKENING This Summer

The Breadbox presents the World Premiere of THE AWAKENING, adapted for the stage by Oren Stevens and developed with Ariel Craft, based on Kate Chopin's revolutionary novel. The Breadbox Artistic Director Ariel Craft (The Pillowman, Blood Wedding, 'Tis Pity She's a Whore) helms this stunning production, breathing new life into Chopin's feminist masterwork. THE AWAKENING plays July 29 through August 20 (press opening: July 30) at EXIT Theatre (156 Eddy St.) in San Francisco. Mary Dimino to Direct TOSSED SALAD at Players Theatre

?A playwright walks into a bar…Playwright Fred Rohan-Vargas, scouting talent for his new comedy Tossed Salad, was in the audience when comedian Mary Dimino performed her stand-up routine.  He knew immediately he found his director.

SoloChicago Theatre's THE UNFORTUNATES Begins at Theater Wit Today

Following its highly acclaimed inaugural production of Churchill, which played in Chicago, New York City and continues to play in several places around the country, SoloChicago Theatre presents THE UNFORTUNATES by Australian playwright Aoise Stratford. SoloChicago Artistic Director Kurt Johns directs the piece about survival, celebrity, violence and friendship, which begins performances today, June 17 at Theater Wit.

FINANCIAL SLAVERY: THE COLLEGE DEBT SENTENCE Coming to FringeNYC

Financial Slavery: The College Debt Sentence will have its World Premiere at The New York International Fringe Festival in August. The production is produced by the Award-Winning North Bergen, New Jersey Company, Strength Out of Shadows (SOS), utilizing visual, performing and media arts to create dialogue and change within their communities. 

THE FURTHER ADVENTURES OF... Set for FringeNYC

TOSOS (The Other Side of Silence) will present Kathleen Warnock's The Further Adventures of… as part of the 20th annual New York International Fringe Festival (FringeNYC).  Eric Chase directs the production which stars Tim Burke, Mark Finley and Jamie Heinlein. TOSOS previous FringeNYC credits include the sold-out runs of And Sophie Comes Too in 2009 and The Secretaries in 2010.

THE CLEANING GUY to Premiere at FringeNYC

The Cleaning Guy will have its World Premiere at the 20th Annual New York International Fringe Festival in August. The solo show is written and performed by Paul Adams who has been developing the script over the last three years at Emerging Artists New Work Series. The comedy is based on his life as an apartment cleaner in New York City, since 1991. In addition to being the "cleaning guy," Paul has also been the Artistic Director for Emerging Artists Theatre since its inception in 1993. 

CULT MODEL to Play Hollywood Fringe Festival

Jackalope Theatre Company Sets 2016-17 Season

Jackalope Theatre Company, under the leadership of Artistic Director Gus Menary and Managing Director Nate Silver, announces its 2016/17 season. The company's 9th season features three productions: a world premiere, a U.S premiere, and a Midwest premiere. The season begins with the U.S premiere of Octagon by Kristiana Rae Colon, directed by Tara Branham, continues with the world premiere of The Snare by Samantha Beach, directed by Jackalope Associated Producer Elana Boulos, and concludes with the Midwest premiere of Ideation by Aaron Loeb, directed by Jackalope Artistic Director Gus Menary.

The Theater at St Claude presents the first annual FASTER THAN A SPEEDING BULLET, 1-minute theatre event. 60 Hulk-Smashing 1-minute plays by over 30 New Orleans writers, including playwrights, comedians, and burlesque artists. Running only two nights at the Theatre at St Claude. June 10 & 11th.

Full Lineup Announced for CHICAGO MUSICAL THEATRE FESTIVAL at Victory Gardens Theater

Underscore Theatre Company is pleased to announce the full line-up for its third annual CHICAGO MUSICAL THEATRE FESTIVAL, featuring 14 new musical productions. I'LL SAY SHE IS Opened 92 Years Ago Today; Revival to Begin May 28 Off-Broadway

I'LL SAY SHE IS, the legendary musical comedy that was the Broadway debut of the Marx Brothers, originally opened 92 years ago today -- on May 19, 1924 at the 875-seat Casino Theatre on Broadway at 39th Street. It played for 313 performances before being lost to history. Thanks to Grouch Marx enthusiast Noah Diamond, I'LL SAY SHE IS will return to the stage in a historic new production at The Connelly Theater beginning previews May 28.
