LAST LIFE Returns To The Ohio Theater 3/4

After a completely sold-out run at the Brick Theatre's Fight Fest, and subsequent sold-out extension, Last Life returns for two-weeks only at the Ohio Theatre (66 Wooster Street located between Spring and Broome) beginning March 4th and ending the 14th running Thursdays - Saturdays at 8 pm and Sundays at 7 pm.

Signature Theatre Presents SWEENEY TODD, 2/9-4/4

The Tony Award®-winning Signature Theatre, nationally known for its interpretation of Stephen Sondheim musicals, celebrates its 20th anniversary season by presenting Sondheim's most popular musical SWEENEY TODD, directed by Artistic Director Eric Schaeffer. The new production runs in the 276-seat MAX Theater, February 9 through April 4, 2010.

STAGE TUBE: Elaine Paige Praises Susan Boyle

As previously reported, in the wake of the media storm that has ensued as a result of comments that recently in the U.K. Daily Mail in which Elaine Paige - famous for her performances in EVITA and CATS in the West End - stated that Susan Boyle was a 'virus,' Paige released a statement clarifying her comments, which she asserts, were grossly misinterpreted and skewed. Elaine Paige Celebrates DVD Release at Dress Circle, 2/27

Elaine Paige will celebrate the release of her concert DVD with an appearance at Dress Circle in London. Paige will sign copies of her DVD for fans beginning at 1:30pm on February 27th. The DVD is from a concert stop on Paige's 40th Anniversary Tour. The concert, entitled 'Live in Australia,' was filmed during the New Zealand/Australian tour that took place earlier this year. This specific concert took place on October 31st, 2009.

CCO Gala Features 'Review' by Patricia Marx and Jeremy Beck 2/19

On Friday, February 19, 2010 at the National Arts Club (15 Gramercy Park South, NYC), a gala evening will be held to benefit the Center For Contemporary Opera (CCO). The evening, hosted by WQXR radio host Midge Woolsey, celebrates the success of CCO's 2009-2010 season, which concludes on June 15 with the world premiere of The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, a fully staged opera by John Eaton at Symphony Space.

Denyce Graves Withdraws from CARMEN

The New Jersey Symphony Orchestra, Opera New Jersey and the New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC) announce that mezzo-soprano Denyce Graves has withdrawn from her Carmen engagements due to a direct order from her doctor to rest her vocal cords for six to eight weeks.

Pittsinger Returns to SOUTH PACIFIC as Emile de Becque 2/2 - 3/21

Bass-Baritone David Pittsinger returns to the role of Emile de Becque in Lincoln Center Theater's Tony Award winning production of Rodgers & Hammerstein's SOUTH PACIFIC, at the Vivian Beaumont Theater, for a seven week period beginning Tuesday, February 2nd through Sunday, March 21, 2010. The production's current Emile de Becque, baritone Paulo Szot, leaves the musical on Jan. 24 to prepare for his Metropolitan Opera debut in their new production of Shostakovich's The Nose. He returns to South Pacific on March 30, 2010.
