The versatile and accomplished Actress, Singer and Songwriter Katey Sagal will be featured for the first time in the Orange County Performing Arts Center's popular Cabaret Series December 10 - 13 in Samueli Theater at Segerstrom Center for the Arts. Though you may know her as Peg Bundy, Sagal considers singing her first love and began her career as a back- up singer for Bette Midler, Bob Dylan and KISS before gaining fame as one of TV's most popular comediennes (8 Simple Rules and Married with Children). As I write these words the opening night party of Roundabout's revival of Sunday in the Park With George, which I'll be seeing on Saturday, is no doubt in full swing, but despite the sublime glories of that Steven Sondheim/James Lapine creation, there's another musical in town about radical artists that deserves just as much attention from anyone interested in the euphoric excitement felt when watching a unique, intelligent and wondrously creative evening of musical theatre.

Whatsonstage.com is reporting that Thom Southerland will helm a new production of Terrence McNally and David Yazbeck's The Full Monty. The production will make its debut at the Broadway Theatre in Catford from running November 4-29, with a West End transfer to the Players Theatre scheduled for. December 2. The production will run at the Players Theatre through January 2. This production will be the first revival of the show in the West End since 2002, where it played at the Prince of Wales Theatre for only eight months.

Bryan Putnam, book, music, and lyrics, continues to show his mutli-faceted talents by jumping into the title role of The ToyMaker due to cast illness. With a mornings rehearsal and organic knowledge of the music, Putnam will sing off-stage at today's 1p performance as Petr, the toy maker.
