One of the most famous shows of the last century, Joan Littlewood's legendary musical Oh What A Lovely War is to come to Birmingham Repertory Theatre. Directed by University of Birmingham graduate, Terry Johnson, the hit revival comes to The REP from 5 to 9 May, as the final venue the show's UK tour.

Ian Reddington (Eastenders, Coronation Street) and Christopher Villiers (Emmerdale) will join Wendi Peters, best known for her role as Cilla Battersby in Coronation Street, in the ensemble cast of Oh What A Lovely War on its national tour in 2015.

Celebrating 80 years, the Bergen County Players (BCP) will present its annual children's show, David Crane and Marta Kauffman's (creators of the hit television show Friends) tongue-in-cheek retelling of the favorite fairytale, Rapunzel. Under the direction of Jerry Hurley, Rapunzel will be performed at the Little Firehouse Theatre in Oradell from November 24th through December 16th. Shows will be on Fridays at 8pm, and Saturdays and Sundays at 1pm and 3:30pm. Tickets may be purchased online at www.bcplayers.org, by calling 201-261-4200, or by visiting the box office at 298 Kinderkamack Road in Oradell during regular box office hours. Tickets are $13 for all performances.
The festival will include performances by the faculty and students, as well as seminars by faculty members including Jed Bernstein and Dave Clemmons. Workshops taking place during the project will also be featured including directors such as Frank Wildhorn, David Loud and Christopher D'Amboise.
Is it a play? A rock musical? A cabaret? A series of overlapping vignettes set to a Dresden Dolls score? A performance piece? I'm not quite sure what to call The Onion Cellar, but I do know that I absolutely loved every minute of it...
