CBS has announced that the series finale of its Emmy Award-winning show How I Met Your Mother will be airing March 31 at 8pm EST. It will be an hour long special titled “Last Forever Parts One and Two.” According to press notes, Ted, the main character, will finish telling his children the story of how he and their mother met.

Last Call Theatricals will present a special 75-minute Industry-Only Preview of a new musical, BOYS VS GIRLS, written by Drew Overcash, directed & choreographed by Josh Rhodes (Cinderella) on Tuesday March 25th at 12:30pm and 3:30pm at Pearl Studios (500 Eighth Avenue). The cast will feature Carla Stickler (Wicked, Mamma Mia), Brent Diroma (Jersey Boys, Avenue Q), Billy Harrington Tighe (Pippin, Wicked, La Cage Aux Folles), Adam Kaplan (Newsies) and Merissa Czyz (Hair). William Demaniow will serve as Musical Director.

The Hasty Pudding Institute of 1770 honored acclaimed Producer David Heyman last night as the 2014 recipient of the Order of the Golden Sphinx . The annual Order of the Golden Sphinx gala was held at the Allen Room at Jazz at Lincoln Center's Frederick P. Rose Hall in New York City. Heyman's critically acclaimed box office hit Gravity, directed by Alfonso Cuaron and starring Sandra Bullock and George Clooney received 10 Academy Award nominations and won an outstanding seven Oscars. The limited engagement, featuring Lena Hall (Kinky Boots, lead singer of The Deafening), will begin previews Saturday, March 29 for a Tuesday, April 22 opening night at the Belasco Theatre (111 West 44th Street).

The production, which opened last night and will run through March 8, 2014, stars bass-baritone Bryn Terfel in the title role and Academy Award-winning actress Emma Thompson as Mrs. Lovett in her Philharmonic debut, New York stage debut, and first time performing the role. Jeff Blumenkrantz portrays The Beadle; Tony Award winner Christian Borle, Pirelli (marking his Philharmonic debut);Kyle Brenn, Tobias Ragg (debut); Jay Armstrong Johnson,Anthony Hope (debut); Erin Mackey, Johanna (debut); and Olivier Award winner Philip Quast, Judge Turpin (debut and New York stage debut).
