CBS's holiday programming this year will be highlighted by the 50th anniversary celebration of the perennial favorite RUDOLPH THE RED-NOSED REINDEER. The festive season, which kicks off with THE THANKSGIVING DAY PARADE ON CBS, will also include festive specials and beloved animated classics.

Ridgefield Playhouse to Welcome Ralphie May, 11/9

The stand-up standout who was voted one of Variety's 10 Comics to Watch, Ralphie May will next appear opposite Neil Patrick Harris and Amy Sedaris in the feature film, The Best and The Brightest. After a record-setting three separate 1-hour Comedy Central specials in the past three years, Ralphie's relatable comedic genius is in higher demand than ever. He will headline at The Ridgefield Playhouse on Sunday, November 9, at 8 p.m. in a laugh-out-loud show that is for mature audiences only.

Life has been an endless series of adventures for Neil Patrick Harris. He has enthralled fans for nearly three decades in more than 100 wildly varied roles, ranging from the iconic Doogie Howser, M.D., and Barney Stinson to Joss Whedon's Dr. Horrible and his recent, Tony Award-winning turn as Hedwig in Hedwig and the Angry Inch. Never one to limit himself, Harris is also a two-time Emmy host, four-time Tony host, an accomplished amateur magician, and a licensed taxidermist (one of those is not true). Exhausted yet? Neil's not! In addition to his busy work life, Neil is also raising very energetic twin three-year-olds with his husband, David Burtka.

The Public Theater presents Bridget Everett's critically acclaimed ROCK BOTTOM at Joe's Pub. The show closes tonight, October 16, 2014. Created by Bridget Everett, Marc Shaiman, Scott Wittman, Adam 'Ad-Rock' Horovitz, and Matt Ray, and directed by Scott Wittman, this shockingly funny and moving new show began performances on September 9 and was originally slated to close on October 11. ROCK BOTTOM was originally commissioned as part of the Joe's Pub 2013 New York Voices series.

When I was a kid, my parents never let me go to any of the traveling carnivals and circuses that crisscrossed the Midwest. They were afraid that the Ferris Wheels, Roller Coasters, and Tilt-a-Whirls that were hastily assembled in rundown shopping center parking lots weren't safe, and that if I was to climb into one of the rides, I could become the victim of a terrible tragedy. Having watched the two hour premiere of AMERICAN HORROR STORY: FREAK SHOW, I now think that my parents significantly underestimated just how dangerous those wayfaring fairs actually were.

Gone Girl is an upcoming American mystery-thriller film based on the 2012 novel of same name written by Gillian Flynn, who also wrote the screenplay for the film. It is directed by David Fincher, and stars Ben Affleck, Rosamund Pike, Neil Patrick Harris, Tyler Perry, and Carrie Coon. The film is scheduled for release on October 3, 2014.
