According to the NY Daily News, the Life Cafe, the setting that inspired Jonathan Larson's RENT, has been closed since September and is now available for rent. The Alphabet City restaurant, which is where the La Vie Boheme scene takes place, is where Larson penned a great deal of the iconic musical.

"Follies" stars four-time Tony Award nominee Jan Maxwell as Phyllis Rogers Stone, Tony Award winner Victoria Clark, two-time Tony Award nominee Danny Burstein as Buddy Plummer, three-time Emmy Award nominee Ron Raines as Benjamin Stone and Olivier Award winner Elaine Paige as Carlotta Campion. Maxwell, Burstein, Raines and Paige are all returning to the roles they originated on Broadway.

Disney Theatrical Productions has just announced the song list for the upcoming Broadway production of Newsies, beginning performances at the Nederlander Theatre (208 W. 41st Street) on March 15th. Telsey + Co., casting office for the new Broadway production of ANNIE, will hold an open call in Austin, TX. on Monday, March 5, for girls ages 6-12 to audition for the roles of Annie and the orphans. Tony Award nominee Douglas Sills and Sara Gettelfinger will star as Gomez and Morticia in a principal cast that also includes Tony Award nominee Martin Vidnovic as Mal Beineke, two-time Tony Award nominee Crista Moore as Alice Beineke, Blake Hammond as Uncle Fester, Pippa Pearthree as Grandma, Tom Corbeil as Lurch, Patrick D.
