BroadwayWorld has confirmed that Cherry Jones, Ellen Burstyn, Jerry Zaks, George C. Wolfe, Lynne Meadow, Cameron Mackintosh, David Hays, and Lorraine Hansberry will be inducted into the Theater Hall of Fame. The 2013 ceremony is set for Jauary 27, 2014, at the Gershwin Theatre (North Rotunda).

As previously announced, Hollywood Pantages Theatre will host the Los Angeles return engagement of the critically-acclaimed Tony-winning production of WAR HORSE for one week only; October 8 - 13, 2013. In commemoration of the bravery and sacrifice of our military servicemen and women and in conjunction with the 100th Anniversary of the start of World War I, the Hollywood Pantages (Nederlander) has announced a very special appreciation and awareness initiative entitled, WAR HORSE: Celebrating Our Heroes.
The Wizard of Oz, featuring some of movie music's most unforgettable standards, along with new music written by Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber; a book adapted by Lloyd Webber and Jeremy Sams... and everything else that is good made its way successfully to Hollywood's Pantages Theatre last week (September 18) for a high flying opening night celebration which drew a full house of young and old alike. Among those involved with the festivities were BWW TV's own Los Angeles correspondents Michael Sterling and Jerry Evans on the red carpet walk of fame. The American Theatre Wing (William Ivey Long, Chair; Heather Hitchens, Executive Director) announced today that its annual gala, held last night at the Plaza Hotel, was the most successful in the organization's history, raising nearly $700,000 (besting the previous record, which was set in 2012, by approximately $100,000). All proceeds from the evening will benefit the education and outreach programs of the American Theatre Wing, which include SpringboardNYC, the Theatre Intern Group, the National Theatre Company Grants and the Jonathan Larson Grants, and will also support free access for students, aspiring professionals, and the general public to programming on AmericanTheatreWing.org, including the long running television show "Working in the Theatre."
Producers Bill Kenwright, The Really Useful Group, David Mirvish, Troika Entertainment, Warner Bros. & The Nederlander Organization have announced that the first North American tour of the new stage adaptation of THE WIZARD OF OZ will make its L.A. debut at the Hollywood Pantages Theatre for a limited 3 week engagement; today, September 17 - October 6, 2013. Full casting for the tour is now complete.
Young People's Theatre presents Louise Pitre as Miss Hannigan and Sterling Jarvis as Oliver Warbucks in its fall production of Annie (TYA), along with Jenny Weisz in the title role. Directed by Allen MacInnis, the iconic musical will be presented on the Mainstage from November 11 to December 19, opening on Thursday, November 14.
