Robert Nederlander Jr., Stanley Browne and Nederlander Worldwide Events have just announced the presentation of BROADWAY AMBASSADORS at the 14th Annual Havana Theatre Festival in Havana, Cuba. Directed by Rob Evan (Jekyll & Hyde, Les Misérables, Tarzan), BROADWAY AMBASSADORS is a full-length concert showcasing the many musical styles that make up the Broadway Songbook. BROADWAY AMBASSADORS features performances from Luba Mason (Chicago, How to Succeed . . . The Will Rogers Follies) Capathia Jenkins (Caroline or Change, The Look of Love), Norm Lewis (Porgy & Bess, The Little Mermaid, Side Show) and Mr. Evan. Jeremy Roberts is the musical director. Performances will take place at the historic Grand Theatre of Havana - also known as the Garcia Lorca Theatre - on November 3rd, 4th, and 5th, 2011. In addition, the artists from the production will conduct several workshops and master classes for students of ISA, the State run performing arts institute.

Special guest performers from Broadway, the Trans-Siberian Orchestra and the world of ROCK will also be featured. Globalvision Records producer and long-time Evan collaborator Jeremy Roberts will provide musical direction. The evening will highlight a 6-piece rock band and four vocalists. Proceeds go to benefit BROADWAY CARES/EQUITY FIGHTS AIDS. THE GRAND ILLUSION will celebrate the Classic Rock genre and honor some of the most iconic Rock Tenors of our time, featuring songs inspired by some of the great Rock Tenors: Roger Daltrey (THE WHO), Dennis DeYoung & Tommy Shaw (STYX), Lou Gramm (FOREIGNER), Freddie Mercury (QUEEN), Steve Perry (JOURNEY), Bono (U2), Robert Plant (LED ZEPPELIN) David Gilmour & Roger Waters (PINK FLOYD), David Lee Roth & Eddie Van Halen (VAN HALEN) And Luciano Pavarotti and more.

Rock tenor Rob Evan is perhaps most famous for his essaying of the dual title roles in Frank Wildhorn's JEKYLL & HYDE ten years ago on Broadway - and playing the leads in the new rock reinterpretation of the score known as JEKYLL & HYDE: RESURRECTION - but since that time he has appeared in entertainment entities as diverse as LES MISERABLES, Disney's TARZAN, Alan Menken & Howard Ashman's LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS, concert performances of CHESS, THE MUSIC OF ANDREW LLOYD WEBBER, The Dream Engine and, of course, his muse-like work for Paul O'Neill, creator and composer of the international phenomenon known as the Trans Siberian Orchestra, as well as the Lord of Excess himself and a rock god like none other, BAT OUT OF HELL visionary Jim Steinman. As the leaders of the world convened at The United Nations, Nederlander Worldwide Entertainment hosts another international event in New York. A new training program has been established between Nederlander Worldwide Entertainment and China's Ministry of Culture under the title of 'Cultural Trade & Industry Exchange Program'; the first session was launched September 19th - 24th, 2010. This delegation comes from China's central and local cultural bureaus representing ten Chinese Provinces/Municipalities including Beijing, Shanghai, Jiangsu, Guangxi, Guangdong, Zhejiang, Shenzhen, Sichuan, Hunan and Chongqing. This series of bilateral culture educational programs is designed to introduce China's theatre professionals, policy makers and educational experts to the business process of the Broadway industry. The six day, intensive series of seminars and theatre tours featured a delegation from Nederlander Worldwide Entertainment, and a team of Broadway industry experts.

SOUL OF SHAOLIN, the Chinese martial arts spectacular, begins its final week of performances tonight at the Marquis Theatre (1535 Broadway). In addition, tonight marks the special Lunar New Year performance of SOUL OF SHAOLIN as the world rings in the Year of the Ox. The production began performances on Tuesday, January 13 and opened Thursday, January 15. The show will end its strictly limited 24 performance engagement on Saturday, January 31. Direct from appearances in Sydney, Macau, and at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, comes a theatrical event that is unparalleled on Broadway. SOUL OF SHAOLIN tells the story of a boy named Hui Guang who is separated from his mother by war. Hui Guang is found and taken in by the legendary monks of the Shaolin temple and raised among them. As he becomes a man, Hui Guang becomes an accomplished master of Shaolin Kung Fu and embarks on a spectacular journey of self-discovery. SOUL OF SHAOLIN marks the first time a production from the People's Republic of China has appeared on Broadway.
