Now, Catherine Gray has written a creative version for The Barter Players, the children's company of Barter Theatre, while still keeping true to its tradition. The mystical tale will be performed May 28-June 22 at Barter Stage II.
All eyes are on A.C. Gilbert's Discovery Village, Salem's museum for kids, as the museum becomes home to an intriguing piece of artwork called Eye Euphoria. Considered the first of its kind in the world, this oversized stained glass kaleidoscope is now on display in the lobby of the Gilbert House, one of the Village's three historic houses. Created by the late artist Donald Ferris of Woodland, Washington, Eye Euphoria took more than 2,500 hours to craft using authentic leaded glass and three window layers with adjustable spin and rotation speed.

Oakland will be illuminated today, April 27, 2013 for the 8th Annual Fire & Light Soiree and Art Auction. From 6 to 11 PM, artists, community members, and local luminaries will gather at The Crucible's West Oakland facility to share a gourmet meal, participate in both a Fund-A-Need and an art auction, and witness an exhilarating aerial dance performance. The event will honor Dennis Bartels, Executive Director of the Exploratorium, and is a fundraiser for The Crucible's youth programs.
