Dito van Reigersberg to Lead 1812 Productions' BUYER & CELLAR

Dito van Reigersberg, best known for his work with Pig Iron Theatre Company and as his alter-ego, cabaret queen Martha Graham Cracker, is set to star in Jonathan Tolins' one-man comedy Buyer & Cellar. van Reigersberg replaces previously announced John Jarboe after Jarboe's departure to join Arden Theatre Company's production of Kander & Ebb's Cabaret.

ArtsWest Announces THE WHO & THE WHAT

ArtsWest will open the 2017-18 Season with THE WHO & THE WHAT, Ayad Akhtar's witty and whip-smart play about a young Muslim woman confronting her family and her faith, at the ArtsWest Playhouse and Gallery on September 7. Performances will run Thursday through Sunday until October 1.  

UNITED FLIGHT 232 to Return to The House Theatre of Chicago

The House Theatre of Chicago has announced the return of the 2016 Joseph Jefferson award-winning show for "Best Production of a Play (midsize)," adapted and directed by Vanessa Stalling+, United Flight 232.

ArtsWest Playhouse and Gallery Announces Three Directors Joining the 2017-18 Season

ArtsWest has announced three young, celebrated Seattle directors who will bring their talent and vision to the 2017-2018 I AM Season - Samip Raval will direct Ayad Akhtar's THE WHO & THE WHAT, Sara Porkalob will direct Jiehae Park's PEERLESS, and Brandon J. Simmons will direct Branden Jacobs-Jenkins' AN OCTOROON.

Lauren Yee's IN A WORD Gets SoCal Premiere at Chance Theater

Chance Theater, Anaheim's official resident theater company, is pleased to announce the sixth show of our 2017 season… in a word. Written by former Chance Theater Resident Playwright Lauren Yee, in a word has received numerous awards and was recently named a New York Times Critic's Pick. Directed by Jocelyn A. Brown, in a word will preview from September 8 through September 15; regular performances will begin September 16 and continue through October 8 at Chance Theater @ Bette Aitken theater arts Center on the Fyda-Mar Stage.

House Theatre of Chicago Announces Return of UNITED FLIGHT 232

The House Theatre of Chicago is proud to announce the return of the 2016 Joseph Jefferson award-winning show for "Best Production of a Play (midsize)," adapted and directed by Vanessa Stalling+, United Flight 232. The adaptation of Laurence Gonzales' book Flight 232 tells the story of the harrowing July 19, 1989 flight bound for Chicago's O'Hare airport.

THE STRANGE CASE OF DR JEKYLL AND MR HYDE to Embark on UK Tour

This September, a thrilling new adaptation of Robert Louis Stevenson's dark psychological fantasy, The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde, will be embarking on a five month UK tour, immersing audiences in the myth and mystery of 19th century London. The production, which is adapted and directed by Nick Lane, presents a unique take on the classic Gothic horror story.

Brian Clowdus and Molly Tynes to Star in Racy Rendition of CABARET at Serenbe Playhouse

Serenbe Playhouse, recipient of the prestigious American Theatre Wing grant, and recently honored with the most Suzi Bass Awards for a musical in Atlanta (Miss Saigon), will present CABARET, by Joe Masteroff and John Kander and Fred Ebb. Directed by Brian Clowdus, the show opens on August 3rd and runs to August 27th. CABARET will be produced at The Open Air Room in Serenbe.

PARADE Adds Three Performances at Chance Theater

Chance Theater, Anaheim's official resident theater company, is pleased to add three additional shows to its production of PARADE. With a book by Alfred Uhry, music and lyrics by Jason Robert Brown, direction by Kari Hayter, and musical direction by Robyn Manion, the Chance's production of PARADE was named a Los Angeles Times Critic's Choice and is Ovation Recommended.

Classical Theatre Company Announces 2017-2018 10th Anniversary Mainstage Season

A winner of the prestigious National Theatre Company Grant Award by the American Theatre Wing, Classical Theatre Company (CTC) is proud to announce the lineup for its 2017-2018 Mainstage Season. NEA Supports American Theatre Wing's SpringboardNYC Program and Docuseries

National Endowment for the Arts Chairman Jane Chu has approved more than $82 million to fund local arts projects across the country in NEA's second major funding announcement for fiscal year 2017. Included in this announcement are two Art Works awards to the American Theatre Wing: $35,000 to fund SpringboardNYC and the Theatre Intern Network (through the NEA's Theater and Musical Theater discipline), and $25,000 for production of the 'Working in the Theatre' docuseries (through the NEA's Media Arts discipline).
