ART Presents DEATH AND THE POWERS: THE ROBOT'S OPERA, 3/18-25

When the eccentric patriarch Simon Powers departs his physical being and downloads himself into The System, his house assumes his immortal presence around his family and friends... So begins DEATH AND THE POWERS, a groundbreaking new opera created by Tod Machover and his Opera of the Future Group at the MIT Media Lab, which receives its North American premiere at the American Repertory Theater. Performances take place at the Cutler Majestic Theater in Boston on March 18 (press opening), March 20, March 22, and March 25.

Cap Stage Presents EVERY CHRISTMAS STORY and WONDERFUL LIFE

Once again by popular demand, Capital Stage announces the hilarious and irreverent return of Every Christmas Story Ever Told(And Then Some!) by Michael Carleton, James Fitzgerald and John K. Alvarez. Addtionally, for a limited six performances, Capital Stage will present the family favorite It's a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play adapted by Joe Landry.

Capital Stage continues as Sacramento's 'home of the premieres' with its presentation of Peter Sinn Nachtrieb's hilarious and outrageous Hunter Gatherers. Winner of the 2006 Harold and Mimi Steinberg/American Theatre Critics Association New Play Award and Will Glickman Award, Hunter Gatherers was included in every Bay Area media's list of best plays for 2006. Besides the Bay Area, Hunter Gatherers has been a huge hit with critics and audiences from LA to Philadelphia and Seattle to Dallas.

Beechey Sings Sondheim, Schwartz, Finn and Maltby and Shire on Debut CD

Annalene Beechey who starred in the West End productions of 'Marguerite', 'Wicked' and 'Beauty & The Beast', will release her debut solo album next month. The CD features arrangements by Peter White, Jonathan Williams and Richard Taylor. Featured vocalists include Julian Ovenden (Marguerite, Annie Get Your Gun), Rebecca Lock (Avenue Q, Phantom of the Opera) and Simon Greiff (Saturday Night Fever, Spamalot).
