Nancy Manocherian's the cell (Artistic Director Kira Simring) in Chelsea, New York City has announced Sandra A. Daley-Sharif's play Straddling the Edge as part of the cell's ongoing residency series. Artistic Director Kira Simring will direct and features Almeria Campbell, Jacqueline Gregg, Nathan Hinton, Justin Jorrell, Travis Raeburn and Robert McKay. Perri Gaffney will read stage directions.

They are the directors for the company's current South Africa: Then & Now repertory, which is comprised of the Athol Fugard's classic Blood Knot and the newer A Human Being Died That Night by Pumla Gobodo-Madikizela and adapted for the stage by Nicholas Wright. The rep represents the old and the new. It's appropriate that Mosaic's genius Artistic Director Ari Roth has enlisted a veteran director of over 50 years and a hot up-and-coming director to bring the plays to vivid life onstage at the Atlas Performing Arts Center.

Rattlestick Playwrights Theater Artistic Director David Van Asselt and Managing Director Brian Long have announced that following strong reviews Pitbulls, written by Keith Josef Adkins and directed by Leah Gardiner, will extend one week through Saturday, December 20, at Rattlestick Playwrights Theater, 224 Waverly Place, west of Seventh Avenue South. (Pitbulls had originally been scheduled to close on December 13.)
