Due to strong ticket sales, the New York Musical Theatre Festival has added a performance on Monday, October 3 at 5:00pm to the new musical THE KID WHO WOULD BE POPE - a musical comedy about first loves, youthful obsession, and the search for miracles.

The New York Musical Theatre Festival, Steven Cunningham with associate producer John Von Herget present the world premiere of JUST LIKE MAGIC Christopher T. Magician's Zany Magical Musical Extravaganza!!! with music by Ryan Mercy, lyrics by Christopher W. Barnes and book by Mr. Barnes and Cameron Cole and directed by Elizabeth Lucas, as a special event in the 2011 New York Musical Theatre Festival at TBG Theater (312 West 36th Street) in Manhattan, with performances on Friday, Oct. 7 at 8:00pm; Saturday, Oct. 8 at 10:30pm and Thursday, Oct. 13 at 8:00pm. The New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF) has announced the next round of invited musical productions, a developmental reading series and special events for their eighth annual festival.

Gerard Alessandrini and Robert Hetzel's MADAME X Plays NYMF, Opens 9/26

From Gerard Alessandrini, the creator of the Tony-Award-Winning Forbidden Broadway, and Robert Hetzel, comes an over-the-top new musical: Madame X, a melodramatic yet comic take on the Douglas Sirk films of the 1950s, and the ever-durable genre of the altruistic, self-sacrificing mother. The show, which will be presented concert-style, stars Forbidden Broadway veterans Donna English as Madame X (Ruthless!, Lend Me a Tenor) Janet Dickenson (The Grinch, Nine to Five) Edward Staudenmayer (Frank Wildhorn's Alice in Wonderland, Spamalot), Michael West (Newsical), plus Bill Coyne, Sean Bell, and Mike Longo with Musical Direction by David Caldwell and Richard Danley.
