Following on from the recent critical acclaim of her direction of The Trouble with Harry at The Seymour Centre, the unstoppable, multi-award winning Kate Gaul is next turning her hand to direct Patrick White's gothic comedy, The Ham Funeral - one of the most challenging and legendary plays in Australia's theatrical history! 

The Seymour Centre and White Box Theatre are pleased to present the gripping and controversial drama, BLACKROCK, as part of the Reginald Season from 9th to 25th March.

After a sell-out, award-nominated run and a West End transfer, Stuart Slade's BU21 will have its Australian premiere at The Old 505 Theatre from February 8 with an opening night on February 9. Outhouse Theatre, the company behind acclaimed productions of The Aliens and 4 Minutes 12 Seconds, is thrilled to introduce local audiences to one of Britain's most exciting, emerging playwrights.

After the success of 'The Aliens' and '4 Minutes 12 Seconds', BU21 continues Outhouse's mission of producing new playwriting that engages with the challenges of our modern world. 

Jeanette Cronin's new work I HATE YOU MY MOTHER kicks off Old Fitz Theatre's year of exploring the stories that have been "unspoken" with a challenging collection of stories of the destruction youth and innocence.

World War II has been on our minds a great deal of late, with events preceding the rise of modern history's most reviled dictator being comparable to those elevating the incumbent American President. In East Berlin, the second World War was an intersection of prejudice, fear and violence from which few survived. Which is what makes this, the tale of Charlotte Von Mahlsdorf, a transgender woman of some prominence who lived through and since archived much of this dark period of history, all the more remarkable. I Am My Own Wife was first produced off-Broadway in the early noughties, and has since become a theatrical cornerstone of trans representation. Presented as a staged documentary, I Am My Own Wife oscillates between interviews, reenactments, transcripts and serves to catalogue Charlotte's life much in the way she maintained the Grunderzeit Museum for which in part she became famous.

Red Line Productions kicks off its 2017 season at the Old Fitz Theatre with I Hate You My Mother, a new Australian work written by acclaimed actor Jeanette Cronin and co- presented by Real Harpy and WhiteBox Theatre.

Nominations were announced today for the Sydney Theatre Awards for 2016, which will be presented at a gala ceremony on Monday 23 January 2017 at 6pm at the York Theatre, Seymour Centre, a much larger venue than previous years due to the burgeoning popularity of the ceremony.

Just in time for the holidays, Jonathan Rockefeller's That Golden Girls Show! will deck the halls and get a holiday makeover, script and all, for the entire month of December in That Golden Girls Show! A Puppet Parody: Holiday Edition.

Part LES MISERABLES, part Quills, part Australia's backyard, Marat/Sade is a raucous and real-life inspection into the lives of the politically disenfranchised, told through the inmates of what was in Peter Weiss' 1960s original the asylum of Charenton, but in Barry French's direction, could be any detention centre dotting the Asia Pacific. A madcap meta-musical repurposing historic cruelty for the new age, Marat/Sade is a fantastic experience for audiences to get up close and personal with.

Due to popular demand, Off-Broadway's hit puppet parody, That Golden Girls Show! will extend its stay at the Union Square's DR2 Theatre (103 E 15th Street) for the holidays as a new block of tickets is made available through January 1, 2017. 

Drama Desk nominee Jonathan Rockefeller debuts a brand new tribute show entitled That Golden Girls Show! - A Puppet Parody that will have its world premiere in NYC. This limited run began performances on September 19 and will open on Monday, October 3, running through December 11, 2016 at DR2 Theatre (103 East 15th Street).

Tonight, September 27, 2016 Golden Girls Scholar and author of Golden Girls Forever: An Unauthorized Look Behind The Lanai, Jim Colucci, will give a post-show talk-back immediately following the performances of That Golden Girls Show! - A Puppet Parody, created by Drama Desk Nominee Jonathan Rockefeller, currently playing at Union Square's DR2 Theatre (103 E 15 Street).
