Crowded Fire Theater to Present American Debut of TRUCK STOP, 10/5-24

Crowded Fire Theater (CFT) is pleased to announce the creative team and dates for the American Premiere of TRUCK STOP by Lachlan Philpott, opening Monday October 5, 8 pm running through October 24 at the Thick House in San Francisco's Potrero Hill. Directed by Marilee Talkington, this production marks Lachlan Philpott's first fully produced play in the United States. Philpott is an award-winning playwright in Australia whose plays have been extensively developed at American theaters including San Francisco's ACT, Crowded Fire Theater and the Magic.

East Lynne Theater Company's TALES OF THE VICTORIANS Returns for 26th Year

The award-winning Equity professional East Lynne Theater Company's popular 'Tales of the Victorians' returns for its twenty-sixth year! Take tea at a lovely inn, indulge in homemade tasty treats, and listen to stories by famous American authors like O. Henry, Mary Wilkins Freeman, Mark Twain, and Zora Neale Hurston, read by ELTC performers and friends, for only $10.00. Children are always welcome, and ages 12 and under are free. As usual most of the 'Tales' are in Cape May, but as of last year, a North Wildwood location has been added.

Abingdon Theatre Company announces that the world premiere of Brian Richard Mori's HELLMAN v. McCARTHY, a new play the feud between literary legends Lillian Hellman and Mary McCarthy, will be recorded by THIRTEEN Productions LLC for WNET on Friday, April 11 at 8pm. The Off-Broadway play starring Dick Cavett, Roberta Maxwell and Marcia Rodd, will be filmed for broadcast on a future date.

The date is Thursday, November 7, and the evening begins at 5:30p.m. with hors d'oeuvres and a cash bar. At 6:00p.m. is a special tastings of Aleathea's specialties, like last year, and at 7:00p.m., the competition begins! The MCs for the evening are Mark Lang and James Rana.

The final opportunity to attend the award-winning East Lynne Theater Company's 'Tales of the Victorians' this season is on Saturday, October 12 at 4:00p.m. at The Henry Sawyer Inn, 722 Columbia Ave. While taking tea and tasting treats at this lovely B&B, professional storyteller and long-time ELTC favorite Stephanie Garrett and artistic director Gaye Stahlhuth will read classic stories from the vast collection of America's rich repertoire, which include works by Edna Ferber, Willa Cather, O. Henry, and Zora Neale Hurston. Cost for this popular pastime is only $10.00, and like other ELTC events, children are always welcome, and, ages 12 and under are free.
