MCC THEATER has announced that indie film star Greta Gerwig will now lead the cast of the American premiere of Penelope Skinner's celebrated play The Village Bike, the final production of MCC's 2013-14 Main Stage season. The Village Bike will be directed by Sam Gold, who recently directed the much-raved new musical Fun Home. It will premiere at The Lucille Lortel Theatre (121 Christopher Street, NYC) beginning May 22, 2014 with an official opening on June 10, 2014.

Bethpage Federal Credit Union announces the recipients of its first 'micro' grant program to assist music students from the North Babylon school district who will be attending Usdan Center for the Creative and Performing Arts (www.usdan.com), the renowned summer arts day camp. The Bethpage 'micro' grants will pay for the students' many additional expenses normally associated with year-round music study that can become a stumbling block for underserved families. As part of the grant program, Bethpage will also provide full 2014 summer program scholarships for Usdan Center's 47th season, which begins June 30. More than 70 North Babylon High School students are beneficiaries of the grant.

Today the world's largest youth empowerment event of its kind, We Day, will make its official debut in California at Oracle Arena.

The newest episode of Zach Galifianakis' parody talk show on Funny or Die, Between Two Ferns, featured surprise guest President Barack Obama. The President appeared on the show to promote his website, healthcare.gov, to younger viewers to encourage them to sign up before the March 31st deadline. While on the show, The President and Galifianakis shared 'awkward' moments, such as when Obama said running for President a 3rd time would be a bad idea saying, 'You know, if I ran a third time, it'd sort of be like doing a third 'Hangover' movie.'

Sharon did some television work and made six films, her last with Orson Welles, and was on her way to international stardom. Two years later while pregnant with his child, a boy, she and four others were savagely killed by members of the Charles Manson 'family' in August 1969 when Manson, a frustrated musician who wanted to get revenge on the Establishment that rejected him, and with paranoid delusions about a Helter Skelter race war he wanted to start, set it in motion. At the home Sharon and Roman rented on Cielo Drive in Benedict Canyon, Sharon passed before being able to say goodbye to her husband or loved ones. In this one woman show, written and performed by Jen Danby (The Blonde Bombshell Project: Marilyn Monroe), and inspired by research into books, pictures, interviews, films, virtual explorations, and more, Sharon Tate is interviewed in Heaven moments after her death to talk about her life, acting, and love, as a Valentine message to her husband.
