Five-time Oscar nominated cinematographer Caleb Deschanel (whose nominations were for The Right Stuff, The Natural, Fly Away Home, The Patriot, and The Passion of the Christ) will direct Gary Moore's autobiographical multi-media one man play BURNING IN CHINA this August at FringeNYC, with performances from August 17th - August 28th at the New York Theatre Workshop's 4th Street Theatre.

LET THEM SHINE, a new 'Hallmark Hall of Fame' presentation starring Emily VanCamp ('Brothers & Sisters,' 'Everwood'), has started production in Albuquerque, New Mexico, for broadcast on the CBS Television Network. Inspired by a true story, this movie is about a 24-year-old first-time teacher who overcomes her initial fears and prejudices and makes a difference in the lives of the homeless children she teaches in a shelter's makeshift classroom.

Lithgow and Pinto Join Franco in 'Rise of the Apes' Film

The Hollywood Reporter reveals today that John Lithgow and Freida Pinto will join the previously announced James Franco in the Fox prequel to Planet of the Apes, Rise of the Apes, for the big screen. The film is being directed by Rupert Wyatt and centers on a scientist (Franco) who is using apes to test a cure for Alzheimer's Disease. Things go sour when the scientist brings the main subject, an ape named Caesar, home with him to keep him out of reach of other researchers who plan to harm him. In the film, Lithgow is set to portray Franco's father, stricken with Alzheimer's disease. Pinto will play a primatologist.
