David Friedman recently launced a campaign to fund a new CD, Nancy LaMott sings David Zippel, which will feature a collection of songs from late singer Nancy LaMott. It will include many never-before-heard recordings of classics such as, You Can Always Count on Me (from City of Angels), How Can I Win? (from The Goodbye Girl) and many more of David Zippel's legendary collaborations. With 21 days left to go, Friedman has raised $40,000 of his $50,000 goal. He is asking anyone who has been affected by Nancy's music and talent to donate what they can to help get the album produced and keep her memory alive. Depending on the amount given, donors will receive anything from a CD to a custom song and dinner with David Friedman and David Zippel in return.

Paper Mill Playhouse will continue its 75th Anniversary Season with the classic Charles Dickens musical Oliver!, with a holiday 'twist' for the entire family. With a book, music and lyrics by Lionel Bart, Oliver! will be directed by Paper Mill Playhouse Producing Artistic Director Mark S. Hoebee with original choreography by JoAnn M. Hunter. Oliver! will feature David Garrison (Fagin), best known for his role as Steve Rhoades on the hit television series Married...with Children, Betsy Morgan (Nancy), John Treacy Egan (Mr. Bumble), Jose Llana (Bill Sikes), David Hess (Mr. Brownlow), Ethan Haberfield (Artful Dodger) and introducing Tyler Moran as Oliver. Oliver! will also feature 16 local boys from across the state of New Jersey who auditioned from a pool of over 200. Oliver! will play the Millburn, New Jersey theater from November 21 through December 29. The official press opening night is Sunday, December 1, 2013, at 7:00pm.

The Ware & Winter Centers of Millersville University have scheduled more than 300 performances for the public in their upcoming September to May season from the '2013 Van Cliburn Silver Medalist Piano Winner, Beatrice Rana' to a new version of 'Irish Christmas in America'. On Friday, September 20, the sister-Centers plan a huge kickoff event which will preview some of those upcoming performances. More than four dozen performers will perform in the hour and a half show. The evening is emceed and hosted by WGAL's anchor person Kim Lemon.

The Fales Library and Special Collections at New York University announced today that Bradshaw Smith's video collection of more than 6,100 hours of cabaret and Broadway theater performances has been donated to the library by his estate. Smith, a former cabaret artist, shot close to three decades of New York theatre events from openings and press events to concerts and one-nighters.
