NYU Skirball Presents IN CONVERSATION WITH MERCE

As a part of the Merce Cunningham Centennial festivities throughout 2019, NYU Skirball will present In Conversation with Merce, a celebration of Cunningham's legacy through world premiere commissions of contemporary artists, running Friday, May 3 and Saturday, May 4 at NYU Skirball.

New York Live Arts (Live Arts) to present the world premiere of Kota Yamazaki/Fluid Hug-Hug's Darkness Odyssey Part 3: Non-Opera, Becoming, April 3-6, 2019, having commissioned the work as part of the Live Feed Residency Program. A co-presentation with Mount Tremper Arts, the final installment of Yamazaki's Darkness Odyssey series, is a non-operatic dance celebrating the bridge between 'this self' and 'the other self.' Bessie Award winning Yamazaki magnifies the ever-changing state and process of 'becoming' while encouraging exchange between performers from different dance practices, and cultural backgrounds.

Bessie Winners Announced Tonight At NYU Skirball Center For The Performing Arts

The night remained forever young at this year's Bessies, what with live performances, videos, tearful and grinning thank you's, hugs and cheers for the new slew of winners, and a costume sashay thrown into wild mix of celebration that took place tonight, October 8, at the NYU Skirball Center for the Performing Arts.  As a prelude to the goings-on inside, impromptu dance performances, including Simone Forti's "Huddle," took place outside.  Ayodele Casel and Shernita Anderson hosted the evening.

Ripe Time Premieres Haruki Murakami's SLEEP in Philadelphia

Sleep will make its world premiere, October 27-28, at the Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts at the University of Pennsylvania and will have its New York premiere at BAM Fisher as part of the 2017 Next Wave Festival, November 29 - December 2.

LCT to Offer Special Events in Conjunction with THE OLDEST BOY

Lincoln Center Theater will present two special events in conjunction with its production of THE OLDEST BOY, a new play by Sarah Ruhl and directed by Rebecca Taichman, which begins performances at the Mitzi E.
