Rehearsals Now Underway for THE FABULOUS LIPITONES at George Street Playhouse

Barbershop quartets will take center stage at New Brunswick's George Street Playhouse as they present John Markus and Mark St. Germain's a cappella musical comedy, The Fabulous Lipitones on stage beginning November 18. The cast includes You Tube sensation Rohan Kymal, and Broadway veterans Donald Corren, Wally Dunn and Jim Walton. Michael Mastro (The Subject Was Roses) returns to helm the production, and Broadway veteran Michael Lichtefeld will put the quartet through their paces as choreographer.

The University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (CCM) opens its 2014-15 Mainstage Series with William Shakespeare's dark and twisted tragedy Macbeth. Under the direction of Brant Russell, Assistant Professor of Drama, Macbeth will make its CCM debut Oct. 2 through 5 in CCM's Patricia Corbett Theater, with a preview performance at 8 p.m. tonight, Oct. 1.

Tony Award-nominee Annaleigh Ashford and star of Book Of Mormon and War Horse, Matt Doyle will headline "Chasing The Day" a new song cycle by songwriter and Kinky Boots Associate Music Director Will Van Dyke. They will also be joined by If/Then star Tamika Sonja Lawrence and Preston Sadleir (Next to Normal) at 54 Below on Monday, November 17, 2014. The four actors will play two shows on November 17th (7:00 PM & 9:30 PM), with direction by Kerry Whigham and musical direction by Dominick Amendum. Originally released as an album on Sh-K-Boom Records in October 2010, Van Dyke's Chasing the Day has been reimagined as a song cycle about breaking up, breaking down, and breaking through, and will soon be available for theatrical licensing. Theatrical Outfit begins its Season of Compassion with the dramatic comedy The Savannah Disputation, written by Georgia-born playwright Evan Smith and, he says, inspired by today's politics and his Savannah grandmother. The show will run August 21 - September 7, 2014. The show will feature Alex Bond, Lane Carlock, Shannon Eubanks and Mark Kincaid. This is the 38th season for Theatrical Outfit, the second-oldest professional theater company in Atlanta, and the home of stories that stir the soul.
