Living Image Arts presents CHARLES WINN SPEAKS written by C. S. HANSON and directed by LYNN M. THOMSON

Tony and Emmy Award-winning actor David Hyde Pierce has been cast in the Vineyard Theatre's Developmental Lab Production of THE LANDING (previously titled 'Andra') -- a collection of three related one-act musicals written by the celebrated composer John Kander and his new collaborator, Greg Pierce - to be directed by Scott Ellis, with David Loud as musical director, it has been announced by artistic director Douglas Aibel and co-artistic director Sarah Stern. THE LANDING will be presented in the spring of 2012 at The Vineyard (108 E. 15 St.).

Naked Angels in association with the Guild Hall will present a one night only benefit staged reading of long-time company member and celebrated playwright Warren Leight's Tony Award-winning play Side Man, starring Zachary Quinto and original Broadway cast members Jeff Binder, Kevin Geer, Michael Mastro, Angelica Torn, and Frank Wood. The reading will take place at Guild Hall in East Hampton, NY on Sunday, August 28 at 7pm. Proceeds will go towards Naked Angels' ongoing development of new work.

Multi-award winning Rogue Machine will present the final performance of David Harrower's critically acclaimed play Blackbird (CRITIC'S CHOICE-LA Times; GO-LA Weekly, CRITIC'S PICK-Backstage; Ovation-RECOMMENDED), will close on August 15.

At Play presents the U.S. premiere of HERMAN KLINE'S MIDLIFE CRISIS - a new play by Josh Koenigsberg, whose play 'Al's Business Cards' was called 'a zippy new comedy' when it debuted in 2009 -- with previews starting August 7th prior to its official press opening on August 14th at Theatre Row's Beckett Theatre (410 West 42nd Street) in Manhattan. HERMAN KLINE'S MIDLIFE CRISIS is produced by Kelcie Beene and Anthony Francavilla.

A reading of the new musical BLACK SUN, a collaboration between Counting Crows lead singer Adam Duritz and playwright Stephen Belber, will take place on August 11 at 7:30 PM as part of the annual Ojai Playwrights Conference.

THE SAVANNAH DISPUTATION tells the story of two Catholic sisters whose faith is rocked after a visit from a young evangelist. To fight back, the women invite the missionary and their unsuspecting parish priest to a truly devilish dinner party, where they stage a theological showdown in this all-out questioning of faith and belief.

Berkshire Playwrights Lab will present a staged reading of Matt Hoverman's 'The Glint' directed by Matthew Penn on Wednesday, August 10 at 7:30pm at the Mahaiwe Performing Arts Center. Conceived and produced by Woodshed Collective (Teddy Bergman, Gabriel Hainer Evansohn, Stephen Squibb, Artistic Directors), The Tenant is written by Bekah Brunstetter, Sarah Burgess, Paul Cohen, Dylan Dawson, Steven Levenson, and Tommy Smith with production dramaturgy by Stephen Squibb. The Tenant is directed by Teddy Bergman and Stephen Brackett and plays through Saturday, September 17.
