Theatre of NOTE has announced the 18th Annual Hollywood Performance Marathon, on Saturday, January 19 beginning at 3pm and continuing until dawn, at Theatre of NOTE, 1517 N. Cahuenga Blvd. (just North of Sunset) in Hollywood.

Presented by OneWest Bank, Coney Island Christmas, a "Jewish Christmas show" for people of all ages and all faiths, introduces us to Shirley Abramowitz (played by Isabella Acres) a young Jewish girl who, much to her immigrant parents' exasperation, is cast as Jesus in the school's Christmas pageant. After years of popularity with innovative 'realism-plus' theatre, Murray Mednick's work stands tall, and surprisingly this is my first taste of a Mednick play. I hope it's not my last! My first being The Fool and the Red Queen, now receiving its world premiere production at the Lounge Theatre in Hollywood. With fine direction by Mednick and Guy Zimmerman and a noteworthy cast, the play is an intriguingly magical odyssey that may not suit everyone's tastebuds, but which will certainly compel, entertain, and maybe even enlighten.

Padua Playwrights presents the world premiere of DaddyO Dies Well, written and directed by legendary poet-playwright Murray Mednick. A deeply lyrical and darkly comic meditation on the sacred and profane that is the fifth installment in Mednick's eight-play 'Gary Plays' cycle, DaddyO Dies Well will close May 22 at the Electric Lodge in Venice.
