Lynn Nottage's play Intimate Apparel finds a way to make loneliness not only dramatic, but incredibly moving.

Artists Rep is thrilled to kick off its 2014/15 season with the Portland premiere of Intimate Apparel by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Lynn Nottage. Artists Rep Artistic Associate and Resident Artist Michael Mendelson will direct this award-winning, Off-Broadway and regional theatre sensation. Huntington Theatre Company announces its 2014-2016 cohort of Huntington Playwriting Fellows: Mia Chung, John J King, Sam Marks, and Nina Louise Morrison. This artistically diverse group of writers begin their two-year residency in September. Past Huntington Playwriting Fellows include Ronan Noone (The Atheist, Brendan, and the upcoming The Second Girl), Lydia R. Truth be told, I'm a bit unsure how to start this review. When I see something as astonishing and extraordinary as Intimate Apparel, I try to come up with something clever, witty, or poetic to kick off my critique, but I am so wonderfully flustered by this beautifully acted and well-crafted production that all I can think off to kick off this review is "Wow."

Pulitzer Prize winning playwright Lynn Nottage's acclaimed play INTIMATE APPAREL returns to New York on January 7th, 2013 at 7pm for a one-night only benefit reading in the Romulus Linney Courtyard Theatre at The Pershing Square Signature Center (480 West 42nd Street,) directed by Jade King Carroll and featuring an all-star cast. All proceeds from the reading will benefit Donor Direct Action (www.donordirectaction.org), a non-profit organization for which Ms. Nottage is on the board, that "strengthens women's rights organizations around the world by increasing access to funds, advocacy, and visibility."

David Ives' THE SCHOOL FOR LIES honors the comedic and linguistic mastery of Moliere's THE MISANTHROPE in a hip, hilarious update that exploits the English language to the maximum. This ribald comedy opens in preview tonight, November 29th and runs through December 15th.
