Performances of WONDERLAND - A New Alice. A New Musical begin tonight, Wednesday, January 5 at 7:30pm at The David A. Straz, Jr. Center for the Performing Arts (Judy Lisi, President and CEO) in Tampa, Florida where it will run through January 16, 2011.

A casting notice just released by AEA reveals that the Whoopi Goldberg-produced White Noise will play its pre-Broadway engagement at the Royal George Theatre in Chicago this spring. Performances are scheduled to begin on April 1, with an opening date of April 9. Rehearsals begin in February in New York City. Last month, White Noise director Sergio Trujillo has suggested the show may be Chicago-bound, telling the Tribune: 'I think we're going to get it up in Chicago...Soon.'

The York Theatre Company (James Morgan, Producing Artistic Director) presents the Off-Broadway premiere of the new true musical comedy, The Road to Qatar, featuring book and lyrics by Stephen Cole and music by David Krane, based on an actual adventure. Performances begin Tuesday, January 25, 2011 and continue through Sunday, February 27, 2011 at The Theatre at Saint Peter's (619 Lexington Avenue, entrance on East 54th Street).

Based on the 1999 film starring Rose McGowan, Julie Benz, Judy Greer and Rebecca Gayheart, JAWBREAKER: THE MUSICAL tells the Faustian tale of Satan-in-heels Courtney Shayne and her mean girl minions who play a nasty birthday prank on their picture-perfect bestie, asphyxiating her with a jawbreaker ball and accidentally killing her. When mousy Fern Mayo catches the flawless four tucking their dead friend back into bed, Courtney promises to make Fern popular in exchange for keeping their secret, implicating the innocent underling in their ill-fated cover up. With its mythic story, candy color fashions and bitch goddess role of Courtney Shayne, Jawbreaker was a natural to translate to the stage. At its core, Jawbreaker is about the lengths we go to belong, even if that means selling your soul for a taste of life with the beautiful ones. On December 3rd, Scott Alan will be joined by some of the performers featured on 'What I Wanna Be When I Grow Up,' for a concert at Barnes and Nobles at Lincoln Triangle. Those scheduled to appear include Christiane Noll, Darius de Haas, Nikki Renee Daniels, Zak Resnick and Christopher Sieber, along with musical director Jesse Vargas. The evening was directed by Tony-winning director/lyricist/librettist Richard Maltby and the award was presented by Alice Hammerstein Mathias, daughter of Oscar Hammerstein II.
