Broadway's Morgan James will return to 54 Below with songs from her debut recording on Epic Records, Morgan James Live: A Celebration of Nina Simone.

The York Theatre Company (James Morgan, Producing Artistic Director; Andrew Levine, Executive Director) and its acclaimed Developmental Reading Series have announced the next three offerings: Analog & Vinyl, License to Marry and MR. Confidential.

Douglas Carpenter, baritone, of New York, won the $15,000 First Prize in the finals of the 15th annual Lotte Lenya Competition, held on April 13, 2013, at the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, N.Y. Maren Weinberger, soprano, of New York, received the Second Prize of $10,000, and two Third Prizes of $7,500 each were awarded to Alison Arnopp, soprano, of County Cork, Ireland, and Lauren Roesner, soprano, of Cincinnati. Founded in 1998 to celebrate the centenary of Lenya's birth, the Lotte Lenya Competition is an international theater singing contest that recognizes talented young singer/actors, ages 19-32, who are dramatically and musically convincing in a wide range of repertoire.

David Schweizer joins creative team of York Theatre Company's next main stage production, the musical I'm a Stranger Here Myself, written and performed by Mark Nadler with William Schimmel on accordion. The limited 3-week engagement begins performances Monday, April 29, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. and will continue through Sunday, May 19, 1013 at The York Theatre Company at Saint Peter's (Entrance on East 54th Street, just east of Lexington Avenue). The York Theatre Company (James Morgan, Producing Artistic Director; Andrew Levine, Executive Director), will present a one-night only benefit concert celebrating up and coming musical theatre writers, with the NEO 9 on Monday, May 20, 2013 at The York Theatre (Citicorp Building, entrance on East 54th Street, just east of Lexington Avenue). Festivities begin at 7:30 p.m. followed by a champagne and dessert reception to toast the evening.
