Variety reports today that Liv Ullmann is confirmed to direct the John Mellencamp/Stephen King musical, The Ghost Brothers of Darkland County. The Swedish actress-director, who most recently made headlines for her direction of the Kate Blanchett-led A Streetcar Names Desire at BAM and The Kennedy Center, announced her participation in Darkland County on a Swedish radio broadcast.

The Oscar presentation also will be televised live in more than 200 countries worldwide.

Performances will be on February 18, 19, 20, February 25, 26, 27, 28, and March 4, 5, 6. All performances will begin at 8 PM, except the February 28 matinee which will be performed at 2 PM.

Original 'Dreamgirls' Loretta Devine, Sheryl Lee Ralph, Jennifer Holliday were amongst the guests in attendance at the opening of the 'Dreamgirls' production at the Ahmanson Theater on March 2. The show will play thru April 4.

La Jolla Playhouse is proud to announce its 2010/11 season resident theatre company: San Diego Asian American Repertory Theater (SDAART). This marks the third year of the Playhouse's landmark Resident Theatre Program, and the newly-appointed company will be in residence in the Theodore and Adele Shank Theatre (formerly the Mandell Weiss Forum Studio) in August/September, 2010, during which they will present Julia Cho's heartwarming drama BFE. CALVIN BERGER, a musical retelling of Cyrano de Bergerac, will open tonight at the George Street Playhouse in New Jersey. The show will feature Broadway star Noah Weisberg as Calvin, alongside David Hull, Krystal Joy Brown and Dana Steingold. Previews for the production began February 10th.
