Oregon Shakespeare Festival (OSF) Artistic Associate Dawn Monique Williams has been named a 2016 Princess Grace Foundation Award winner.

As part of the Dramatists Guild Fund's Traveling Masters Program, Playwright Chisa Hutchinson (Dead and Breathing, Dirt Rich, She Like Girls, This Is Not the Play, Sex on Sunday) led writing workshops and a public Q&A at the Frank Center during the Contemporary American Theater Festival at Shepherd University. The Princess Grace Foundation-USA (PGF-USA) has announced the winners of the 2016 Princess Grace Awards.  The Annual Gala will continue the legacy of Princess Grace (Kelly) of Monaco, who helped emerging artists pursue their artistic goals during Her lifetime.  In total, the Foundation is awarding over $1 million to artists in theater, dance, and film.   In the presence of Their Serene Highnesses The Prince and The Princess of Monaco, this year's Gala will be held at Cipriani 25 Broadway on October 24, 2016.  The evening will be co-chaired by Lisa and Richard Plepler, Sidney and Katia Toledano, and Gillian Murphy and Ethan Stiefel. Major Gala supporters include: Christian Dior Couture, as Presenting Sponsor and Mrs. Lily Safra as Crown Sponsor.

Chicago native and Columbia College Chicago alum Will Adams' latest film, 'A 3rd First,' will premiere Aug. 6 during the 22nd Annual Black Harvest Film Festival at the Gene Siskel Film Center of the Art Institute of Chicago.

Community Cast Party Co-Chairs Stan Graner, Corky Pledger, Deborah Staggs and Maureen Anderson today announced details for the 3rdAnnual Community Cast Party.  The party will be held on Saturday, September 10, 2016 at WaterTower Theatre from 7 pm to 11 pm.  The Community Cast Party, is designed to attract a wide audience of patrons who are interested in supporting WaterTower Theatre while enjoying an evening of entertainment with cuisine offered from many fine local restaurants.  Attendees will have a unique opportunity to mix and mingle with many artists from the DFW theatre community at the “open house” style event, where everyone is welcome.

The Oregon Shakespeare Festival will open William Shakespeare's Richard II, directed by Bill Rauch, on July 9 in the Thomas Theatre. Preview performances are offered July 5, 7 and 8. Due to popular demand, additional performances have been added on July 12, 27, Sept. 14, 27, October 18 and 25.

The League of American Orchestras' 2016 National Conference in Baltimore, begins today, June 9, and continues through June 11. The conference focuses on orchestra diversity and inclusion, offering expert speakers from within the field and beyond, as well as a series of plenary and elective sessions on diversifying orchestra musicians, boards of directors, audiences, and the workplace. The Conference will welcome orchestra managers, musicians, staff, trustees, and volunteers from across the U.S.; it is the first League Conference to take place in Baltimore.
