Disney|ABC Television's Directing Program Announces the 2018-2020 Participants

The 15 selected to participate in the program are the following: indie film directors Maria Burton (“A Sort of Homecoming”), Pablo Gomez-Castro (“El Alquiler”), Stephanie Martin (“Wild Horses”), and Marshall Tyler (“Night Shift”); TV movie director Princess Monique (“Seasons of Love”); brand director and entrepreneur Ryan Brown (“The Rough Part”); feature screenwriter Michelle Steffes (“The Interview”); indie film/commercial directors Alonso Mayo (“Fixed”) and Phillip Rhys (“The Scarecrow”); digital writer/directors Cynthia Kao (“Groundhog Day For A Black Man”) and Marvin Lemus (“Gente-fied: The Digital Series”);  commercial/streaming writer/director Dinh Thai (“Monday”); Broadway producer/director and indie film director Coy Middlebrook (“For Spacious Sky”); actor/director and law enforcement professional Jeremy Earl (“Constance Murphy”); and music video and commercial director Bobby Yan (“Marz”).

Berkeley Rep Announces Final Casting for FAIRVIEW

Final casting for Berkeley Repertory Theatre's upcoming production of Fairview was announced today. Written by Jackie Sibblies Drury, directed bySarah Benson, with choreography by Raja Feather Kelly, the world premiere production comes straight to Berkeley Rep from a critically acclaimed New York run. Previews begin on Thursday, October 4 with regular run of the show opening on Thursday, October 11 and continuing through Sunday, November 4. SNOW IN MIDSUMMER Premieres at The Oregon Shakespeare Festival

The Oregon Shakespeare Festival will open the U.S. premiere of Frances Ya-Chu Cowhig's Snow in Midsummer, directed by Justin Audibert, on August 5 in the Angus Bowmer Theatre. Preview performances are August 2, 3 and 4, and the play runs through Oct. 27, 2018.

As a child, with the delight of life around every corner, the box is the most amazing gift-not the contents, just the box. As a parent, when the mind and body separate more with each passing day, our possessions (and sometimes our bodies) are stored in boxes for future generations to curse and explore. Are we to be summed up solely by the contents of a cardboard box-a somewhat nihilistic attitude in corrugated paper? box. unabashedly demands ransoming our lives from the boxes tucked away under the bed, back of the closet, down in the basement, up in the attic and gives voice to the process, often painful, of packing and unpacking our lives.
