Boston Playwrights' Theatre (BPT) continues its 2014-15 season with Chosen Child by Monica Bauer. Running from October 30 to November 22, this new drama will be directed by Megan Schy Gleeson.

Frances Hill, Founding Artistic Director of Urban Stages, today announced the 2014-'15 season which will launch with the American Premiere of the award-winning drama Shatter by prolific Canadian playwright Trina Davies.

Boston Playwrights' Theatre (BPT) today announces the three new plays that will comprise its 33rd season. The line-up includes Reconsidering Hanna(h) by Deirdre Girard, Chosen Child by Monica Bauer and Uncle Jack by Michael Hammond.

Urban Stages Frances Hill, Founding Artistic Director and producer Peter Napolitano, announced the final week of the World Premiere engagement of Character Man. Jim Brochu's new musical memoir at Urban Stages Theatre (259 West 30th Street). This limited run will continue through April 6th only. Robert Bartley directs, with musical direction by Carl Haan. The Final Post-Show Talk will take place on Wednesday, April 2nd with Special Guest Karen Mason (Mamma Mia, Sunset Boulevard, Hairspray), moderated by Peter Filichia.

The Michigan Premiere production of MY OCCASION OF SIN by Monica Bauer will have a Grand Champagne Opening on Thursday, January 9, 2014 at the Detroit Repertory Theatre at 8:30 PM. As is the tradition for Opening Nights at the Rep, a free Champagne Reception will follow the performance with the cast, crew, and playwright who will be flying in to see her play. The United Solo Festival will feature Monica Bauer's play 'Made for Each Other' for one performance only, on Theatre Row, Wednesday, October 16, at 7:30. Bauer wrote the play specifically for New York actor John Fico, as a tour de force for one actor playing four parts, in a play about an unlikely gay marriage and the power of memory.

The 8th Annual Women at Work Festival, a benefit for the Girl Effect, takes place at Stage Left Studio, beginning today, September 23, and continuing through October 5, 2013.

Award-winning playwright Monica Bauer (2012 Emerging Playwright Award, Urban Stages) will bring her autobiographical solo show to Stage Left Studio's Women at Work Festival for two performances only, September 28th at 1pm, and October 5th at 4pm. "The Year I Was Gifted" comes directly from the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, where it was hailed as "a gorgeous wee gem of a show" (ScotsGay Magazine) and "funny and wrenching...a one-woman tour de force' (lgbt.co.uk).
