MEN ARE FROM MARS - WOMEN ARE FROM VENUS LIVE! Opens This Weekend Off-Broadway

After traveling the country for the past two years, MEN ARE FROM MARS - WOMEN ARE FROM VENUS LIVE! is making its Off-Broadway debut, it began performances on October 22; and will open this weekend on November 7 running through November 29, 2015 at New World Stages (340 West 50 Street).

D.C.-Area Students Head to Arena Stage for AKEELAH AND THE BEE, Storytelling Events

Inspired by the family-friendly productions of Oliver!, which runs through January 3, 2016, and Akeelah and the Bee, running November 13-December 27, 2015, Arena Stage will host two special educational events for D.C.-area students ages 3-15 in November. Both events take place onsite at the Mead Center for American Theater (1101 Sixth St., SW).

PlayMakers Names New Producing Artistic Director

PlayMakers Repertory Company, the professional theater in residence at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, has appointed Vivienne Benesch as its next Producing Artistic Director. After an extensive national search, she will take up the position Jan. 1, 2016 succeeding Joseph Haj as the company's eighth artistic leader.

The Engels reunite with director David Esbjornson (Arena Stage's Guess Who's Coming to Dinner) following their collaboration on the smash hit Red Hot Patriot: The Kick-Ass Wit of Molly Ivins, which starred Kathleen Turner in its celebrated 2012 run at Arena Stage. Arena Stage to Present BORN FOR THIS: THE BEBE WINANS STORY in 2016

Six-time Grammy Award winner BeBe Winans and Broadway's Motown the Musical director Charles Randolph-Wright will debut the world-premiere American musical Born for This: The BeBe Winans Story at Arena Stage in summer 2016 as part of a co-production with Alliance Theatre in Atlanta. Featuring new music by BeBe, the musical chronicles the early days of his career with sister CeCe Winans and their rise to fame through Jim and Tammy Faye Bakker's Praise the Lord network television show.
