The new American musical Allegiance officially opened last night, November 8, at the Longacre Theatre (220 West 48th Street, starring Tony and Olivier Award winner Lea Salonga (Miss Saigon, Les Miserables) in her long-awaited return to Broadway, 'Star Trek' icon George Takei in his Broadway debut at age 78, and Broadway and 'Glee' star Telly Leung. Allegiance is the vibrant and unforgettable story of one family's resilience in the face of seemingly-insurmountable odds, inspired by Takei's real-life experience as a Japanese American during World War II. A rehearsal for the East Coast Premiere of Nick Blaemire's 'A Little More Alive' recently took place in New York City and BroadwayWorld was there. Barrington Stage Company, under the leadership of Artistic Director Julianne Boyd and Managing Director Tristan Wilson, announced BSC's acclaimed Musical Theatre Lab will present Nick Blaemire's new musical A Little More Alive, from July 17 through August 8 on the St. Germain Stage.  The press opening is Wednesday, July 22 at 7:30pm.

Shapiro, at the Cort Theatre (138 West 48th Street). Mr. Alexander steps into the role created by Mr. David in the comedy about a death in the family. Larry David will play his final performance in FISH IN THE DARK on Sunday, June 7. The limited engagement run of the production, originally scheduled through June 7, is extended for six weeks through Sunday, July 19.

A $35 rush policy will be launched on Tuesday, June 9th when Tony Award-winning actor Jason Alexander assumes the role of Norman Drexel in Larry David's hit comedy Fish In the Dark, directed by Anna D. Shapiro, at the Cort Theatre (138 West 48th Street). A limited number of rush tickets will be available the day of the performance at the box office of the Cort Theatre. The $35 rush tickets will be limited to 2 per person and will be available when the box office opens.

According to the Daily Mail, THRILLER LIVE's Gary Lloyd is set to helm Dean Pitchford, Michael Gore and Lawrence D. Cohen's revised version of CARRIE THE MUSICAL for Southwark Playhouse this summer. The show will begin May 1 for a four-week run. The team is planning on holding open auditions for the lead role.
