Greg Ellwand Joins Cast of Tarragon's A GOD IN NEED OF HELP

Tarragon Theatre presents the world premiere of A God in Need of Help by playwright-in-residence Sean Dixon, directed by the theatre's artistic director, Richard Rose. This vividly painted sojourn into 17th century Europe examines the role of faith at the dawn of the Age of Reason and opens Wednesday, April 23, running to May 25 (with previews from April 16) in Tarragon's Mainspace. Updated: FLASHDANCE confirmed for Toronto, but in May - not December.

Will Flashdance be the Mirvish Mystery Musical playing Toronto in December/January 2013? The show, which has three Canadians on it's creative team was announced to play Toronto in 2012, but that fell through. The production was also scheduled to open on Broadway in the 2013-2014 season, but that too has been postponed.

PACAMAMBO, DEAD METAPHOR and More Set for Canadian Rep Theatre's 2014 Season

Artistic Director Ken Gass has announced venues, casting and dates for three Canadian Rep Theatre productions that will comprise its 2013/14 inaugural season. The playbill features new works by three of Canada's leading playwrights: the English-language premiere of PACAMAMBO by Wajdi Mouawad (translated by Shelley Tepperman); the world premiere of WATCHING GLORY DIE by Judith Thompson; and the Canadian premiere of DEAD METAPHOR by George F. Mirvish Hosting Free Event: Meet the Creative Team of ARRABAL, 1/27

Mirvish Productions announced today they will host a free event on January 27 at the Toronto Reference Library, where guests will have the chance to meet the cast and creators of Arrabal, a new musical set to make it's world premier in Toronto this February.

BWW Special: Colm Wilkinson and Ramin Karimloo Thrill Toronto in Les Miserables

If you were a passerby outside The Princess of Wales Saturday night, you might have thought there was a rock concert going on inside. The audience reaction when Colm Wilkinson, the man who originated the role of Jean Valjean in Les Miserables, stepped on stage was nothing short of deafening. That level of energy continued throughout the night as Wilkinson performed alongside Ramin Karimloo, who was inspired to become a musical theatre performer after seeing Wilkinson in the original Canadian production of The Phantom of the Opera.
