AFRICA UMOJA Continues at the Elgin Theatre thru Aug 18

Africa UMOJA: The Spirit of Togetherness created and directed by Todd Twala and Thembi Nyandeni is explosive. It's a light and lively journey of history of the African culture and heritage through an energetic array of singing that is soulful and inspirational. Lincoln Center Kicks Off MIDSUMMER NIGHT SWING Tonight

Lincoln Center's Midsummer Night Swing - This summer marks the 25th Anniversary season of Midsummer Night Swing. Midsummer Night Swing takes place Tuesdays through Saturdays, today, June 25-July 13, on the elevated dance floor in Damrosch Park on West 62nd Street, between Columbus and Amsterdam Avenues.

Tickets Go on Sale 5/22 for Lincoln Center's MIDSUMMER NIGHT SWING

Tickets go on sale for Lincoln Center's Midsummer Night Swing starting Wednesday, May 22. Individual tickets are $17, which includes a dance lesson with a professional instructor followed by two sets of dancing under the stars to a live orchestra. This summer marks the 25th Anniversary season of Midsummer Night Swing, and to celebrate, tickets will be sold at a special '2 for $25' price on May 22 only. There are also Midsummer Night Passes priced at $84 for six admissions, and $170 for the full season. Four-admission passes are available for $60.

2013 Juno Awards Winners Announced

The 2013 Juno Awards were announced last night in Regina, Saskatchewan. Three of the four classical categories were won by Naxos and its distributed labels including the first ever win for a composer in the new Naxos Canadian Classics series (http://bit.ly/ZH6hx4).

NJPAC Presents SING THE TRUTH 12/18

In Sing the Truth, a New York/New Jersey metro-area exclusive that comes to NJPAC's Prudential Hall on December 18, 2011 at 3pm, three great women of contemporary song - multilingual singer-songwriter Angelique Kidjo, Grammy-winning jazz legend Dianne Reeves and jazz/gospel-inspired diva Lizz Wright - pay tribute to three recently departed legends: Miriam Makeba, Abbey Lincoln, and Odetta.

Sweet Honey In The Rock Makes Blue Room Debut, 12/12-14

Grammy-nominated a cappella super-group Sweet Honey In The Rock will make their Blue Note debut performing what they call their "most adventurous live presentation ever" in a tribute to legendary singers Nina Simone, Odetta, Miriam Makeba and Abby Lincoln from December 12 - 14.
