Set in present day, small town Mississippi, The Charm of Making examines the conflict between religion and sexuality through the eyes of the last living members of an old Southern family. Elvin Randolph's attempts to break the chains of the past and embrace his homosexuality lead to tragedy and ultimately redemption as he struggles to reconcile his faith, his family history, and his sexuality, in modern day Mississippi.

Broadway stars Stockard Channing and Timothy Hutton will star in the new film, Multiple Sarcasms, alongside Laila Robins. Multiple Sarcasm, which features a play within the film, additionally showcases contributions by Broadway producer Milton Justice. The film opens in theaters on May 7, 2010.

It was announced today by John Jack Rodgers, the Executive Director of the Stella Adler-Los Angeles, that the academy and theatre has formed a new professional theatre company called the Stella Adler Los Angeles Theatre Collective.
